- Als Jocs Olímpics d'Estiu de 1948 celebrats a la ciutat de Londres (Regne Unit) es disputaren cinc competicions d'art entre els dies 15 de juliol i 14 d'agost al Victoria and Albert Museum. Es van concedir medalles en cinc categories (arquitectura, literatura, música, pintura i escultura) per a obres inspirades en l'esport olímpic. Les competicions d'art formaren part del programa olímpic entre 1912 i 1948, moment en el qual es van suspendre per problemes sobre la seva professionalitat. A partir de 1952, a l'entorn dels Jocs Olímpics, s'associà un entorn no competitiu de festival cultural i artístic. (ca)

- Art competitions were held as part of the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, Great Britain. Medals were awarded in five categories (architecture, literature, music, painting, and sculpture), for works inspired by sport-related themes. The art exhibition was held at the Victoria and Albert Museum from 15 July to 14 August, and displayed works of art from 27 different countries. The literature competition attracted 44 entries, and the music competition had 36 entries. The art competitions included multiple subcategories for each of the five artistic categories. The judges declined to award any medals for dramatic works in literature, and no gold medals in another five subcategories. Alex Diggelmann of Switzerland won both a silver medal and a bronze medal for two different entries in the applied arts and crafts subcategory, a feat unlikely to be duplicated in any event in the current Olympic program. These were the last Games in which art competitions were held, after being in the official program for all Games since 1912. At a meeting of the International Olympic Committee in 1949 it was decided to hold art exhibitions instead, as it was judged illogical to permit professionals to compete in the art competitions while only amateurs were permitted to compete in sporting events. Since 1952 a non-competitive art and cultural festival has been associated with each Games. (en)

Ainsi, trente-deux médailles sont décernées à Londres ( 8 en or, 11 en argent et 13 en bronze), réparties entre treize pays dont les artistes ont concouru dans cinq domaines artistiques majeurs : architecture, littérature, musique, peinture et sculpture. Sachant que chacune est déclinée en sous-catégories. Ainsi la sculpture comprend trois épreuves spécifiques : statues, médailles et reliefs. (fr)
- Le competizioni artistiche nei Giochi della XIV Olimpiade erano divise in cinque categorie (architettura, letteratura, musica, pittura e scultura), per lavori ispirati a tematiche sportive, le cinque categorie a loro volta suddivisi in altre sottocategorie. I lavori erano stati esibiti al Victoria and Albert Museum da 15 luglio al 14 agosto, questi provenivano da 47 stati diversi. I giudici si erano rifiutati di concedere qualsiasi medaglia per la sottocategoria dei drammi, nessun oro per la musica da camera e strumento solista, Medaglie e trofei, rilievi, nessun argento per la musica per voce solista e i rilievi. Lo svizzero Alex Diggelmann ha vinto la medaglia d'argento e la medaglia di bronzo per la stessa sottocategoria. Questa è l'ultima olimpiade in cui appare questa disciplina apparsa dal 1912, infatti ad un meeting del Comitato Olimpico Internazionale avvenuto nel 1949 si decise di abolire le competizioni di natura artistica, dal 1952 viene disputato un festival artistico che non rientra nelle discipline ufficiali. Er werden medailles uitgereikt voor werken die geïnspireerd waren door sport in de categorieën: architectuur, literatuur, muziek, schilderen en beeldhouwen. De kunstwedstrijden werden van 15 juli tot 14 augustus in het Victoria and Albert Museum gehouden. Er waren inzendingen uit 27 landen. Ook waren er 44 literatuur- en 36 muziekinzendingen. (nl)
- Olimpijski Konkurs Sztuki i Literatury 1948 – 7. i zarazem ostatnia edycja konkursu, która odbyła się równolegle z Letnimi IO w Londynie w 1948. Medale zostały przyznane w pięciu kategoriach: architekturze, muzyce, literaturze, malarstwie i rzeźbiarstwie. Wystawa prac miała miejsce w Victoria & Albert Museum w dzielnicy Londynu - South Kensington. Na 43 sesji MKOL w Rzymie w 1949 roku podjęto decyzję o likwidacji konkursów sztuki i literatury w przyszłych edycjach letnich igrzysk olimpijskich. (pl)
