Apple Inc. workers around the globe have been involved in organizing since the 1990s. Apple's worker organizations have been made up of retail, corporate, and other indirect workers. Workers have joined trade unions in Europe, Japan, the United States, Australia, and works councils in Europe. The majority of industrial and labor disputes (including union recognition) involving Apple occur indirectly through its suppliers and contractors, notably Foxconn plants in China. In 2021, a solidarity union, Apple Together, sought to bring together the company's global worker organizations.
