- Die Angelitos-Athena ist eine antike Statue aus Marmor, die etwa 480 v. Chr. geschaffen wurde. Gewidmet wurde sie von Angelitos, von dem sie auch den Beinamen hatte, und an der Säule, auf der sie vermutlich stand, signiert von Euenor, was aber nicht unumstritten ist. Gefunden wurde sie im Perserschutt auf der Akropolis in Athen, in ihrer Nähe wurden der Kritios-Knabe und der Kalbsträger gefunden. Die Figur trägt die Aigis und ist mit dem archaischen Peplos bekleidet. Sie dürfte einmal einen Schild und einen Speer gehalten haben, die aber nicht mehr erhalten sind. Sie ist als Torso erhalten mit einer Höhe von 0,77 m. Sie befindet sich im Akropolismuseum Inv. 140. (de)

Σήμερα εκτίθεται στο Μουσείο Ακρόπολης με αριθμό καταλόγου 140. Έχει ύψος 0,77 μέτρα περίπου. Το άγαλμα υπέστη σοβαρές φθορές ενώ έχει χαθεί η κεφαλή του. Όπως και σε πρωιμότερες απεικονίσεις της Αθηνάς, αυτή φορά τον αρχαϊκό πέπλο, αλλά επίσης έχει και αιγίδα στους ώμους της, με ένα στη μέση του στήθους της. Το υψωμένο δεξί της χέρι διασώζεται μέχρι τον καρπό της, ενώ κάποτε κρατούσε ένα δόρυ και μία ασπίδα. Το αριστερό της χέρι απουσιάζει εντελώς, εκτός από τμήμα στον ώμο της ενώ υπάρχουν ίχνη του αριστερού της χεριού στη μέση της. Το άγαλμα αυτό πιστεύεται, όχι πλήρως επιβεβαιωμένα πάντως, πως στεκόταν στην κορυφή ενός διατηρημένου κίονα δωρικού ρυθμού, στον οποίον αναγράφεται το εξής: Ἀνγέλιτός μ' ἀνέθε[κε][πότνι'] Ἀθεναία χεχ[αρίσθο σοι τόδε δορον].Εὐένορ ἐποίεσεν. - The Angelitos Athena is an ancient marble statue, which was made around 480–470 BC. The figure, the earliest known depiction of the armed Athena, is an example of the severe style, the transitional style between archaic and classical Greek sculpture which developed after the Persian Wars. Today it is located at the Acropolis Museum under the inventory number 140. The statue is heavily damaged and has lost its head. Like earlier depictions of Athena she wears the archaic peplos, but she also has the aegis over her shoulders, with a gorgoneion in the centre of her chest. Her upraised right arm survives up to the wrist and once held a spear. Her left arm is entirely missing except for the shoulder and traces of her left hand resting on her waist. The statue is believed, not completely uncontroversially, to have stood atop a preserved Doric column which reads: Angelitos dedicated me. Vénérable Athéna, que ce cadeau te plaise. Euènôr l'a fait. » L'auteur de l'œuvre pourrait donc être le sculpteur Euènôr (en grec ancien Εὐήνωρ), dont le nom est mentionné sur deux autres bases de statues. (fr)
