- Biograph Company, també coneguda com a American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, va ser una empresa cinematogràfica fundada al 1895 i activa fins al 1916. Fou la primera empresa en els Estats Units dedicada plenament a la producció cinematogràfica i a l'exposició, i durant dues dècades va ser una de les més prolífiques, publicant més de 3000 curtmetratges i 12 llargmetratges. Dickson, einem ehemaligen Mitarbeiter von Thomas Edison, Herman Casler, Henry Marvin und Elias Koopman als American Mutoscope Company, ab 1902 American Mutoscope & Biograph Company, gegründet und 1909 in Biograph Company umbenannt. Einige der bekanntesten Künstler der Stummfilmzeit begannen ihre Karriere bei der Biograph, so z. B. David W. Griffith, Mary Pickford, Lionel Barrymore, Lillian Gish und Mack Sennett. En 1991, une nouvelle société, portant le même nom, a été créée en Californie. Le réalisateur David Wark Griffith rejoignit la Biograph en 1908 à la fois en tant que scénariste et acteur. Mack Sennett a parfait son métier en tant qu'acteur et réalisateur de comédie pour la compagnie.
