- الشيخوخة في الكلاب يغطي تأثير الشيخوخة في المحلي كلب ( familiaris الذئبة )،والقضايا الطبية والسريرية المشتركة الناشئة، ومتوسط العمر المتوقع. كما هو الحال مع البشر، وسنوات متقدمة في كثير من الأحيان إحداث تغييرات في قدرة الكلب على السمع والتحرك بسهولة.حالة الجلد، ومستويات الشهية والطاقة غالبا ما تتحلل مع الشيخوخة العمر، والحالات الطبية مثل السرطان،الفشل الكلوي ، التهاب المفاصل والشروط المشتركة، وغيرها من علامات الشيخوخة قد تظهر. والكلاب لايستطعون المشي ولا الركض ولاحتى الحبو ويصبحون معوقين وينمو لهم ديل كبير فوق الادنين ويصبح ولونهم ازرق حتى يموت الكلب كالكلب (ar)
- Aging in dogs varies from breed to breed, and affects the dog's health and physical ability. As with humans, advanced years often bring changes in a dog's ability to hear, see, and move about easily. Skin condition, appetite, and energy levels often degrade with geriatric age, and medical conditions such as cancer, kidney failure, arthritis, dementia, and joint conditions, and other signs of old age may appear. The aging profile of dogs varies according to their adult size (often determined by their breed): smaller dogs often live over 15–16 years (the max is 20 years), medium and large size dogs typically 10 to 20 years, and some giant dog breeds such as mastiffs, often only 7 to 8 years. The latter reach maturity at a slightly older age than smaller breeds—giant breeds becoming adult around two years old compared to the norm of around 13–15 months for other breeds. (en)

Elles se limitent à l'apparition de poils gris sur le museau. Mais chez d'autres espèces canines plus délicates, le pelage devient totalement gris à cet âge. Comme chez les humains, l'âge avancé apporte des changements dans la capacité du chien à entendre, voir et se déplacer. Des affections de la peau, perte d'appétit et d'énergie sont ses symptômes de l'avancement de l'âge gériatrique. Som hos människor medför senare år ofta förändringar i en hunds förmåga att höra, se och röra sig. Hudens skick, aptiten och energinivåer försämras oftast med geriatrisk ålder samt medicinska problem som cancer, njursvikt, ledinflammation och ledproblem samt andra tecken på gammal ålder kan dyka upp. Åldersprofilen för hundar varierar efter dess vuxna storlek (bestäms oftast efter rasen): mindre hundar lever oftast längre än 15–16 år, medelstora och större hundar vanligtvis 10 till 13 år och en del stora hundraser som mastiffer, blir oftast endast 7 till 8 år.
