- The 2008 Mercedes Cup was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 31st edition of the Mercedes Cup, and was part of the International Series Gold of the 2008 ATP Tour. It took place at the Tennis Club Weissenhof in Stuttgart, Germany, from 7 July until 13 July 2008. The announced field was headlined by ATP No. 2, Stuttgart defending champion, French Open and new Wimbledon titlist Rafael Nadal, Sydney doubles winner and Queen's Club quarterfinalist Richard Gasquet, and French Open quarterfinalist, Costa do Sauípe and Acapulco champion Nicolás Almagro. Also competing were Auckland titlist Philipp Kohlschreiber, Munich runner-up Simone Bolelli, Agustín Calleri, José Acasuso and Eduardo Schwank. (en)
- Der Mercedes Cup 2008 war ein Tennisturnier, welches vom 7. bis 13. Juli 2008 in Stuttgart stattfand. Es war Teil der ATP Tour 2008 und wurde im Freien auf Sand ausgetragen. In derselben Woche wurden in Gstaad die Allianz Suisse Open, in Newport die Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships sowie in Båstad die Catella Swedish Open gespielt. Diese drei gehörten, anders als das Turnier in Stuttgart, das zur International Series Gold zählte, zur Kategorie der International Series Rafael Nadal war der Titelverteidiger im Einzel, der dieses Jahr jedoch seine Teilnahme aufgrund einer Knieverletzung zurückziehen musste. Im Finale siegte der ungesetzte Argentinier Juan Martín del Potro in zwei Sätzen mit 6:4, 7:5 gegen den an zwei gesetzten Franzosen Richard Gasquet und erhielt damit seinen ersten Titel der Karriere. Im Doppel waren František Čermák und Leoš Friedl im vorherigen Jahr erfolgreich, sie traten dieses Jahr nicht erneut an. Im deutschen Finale setzten sich Christopher Kas und Philipp Kohlschreiber mit 6:3, 6:4 gegen Michael Berrer und Mischa Zverev durch. Das Teilnehmerfeld der Einzelkonkurrenz bestand aus 28 Spielern, jenes der Doppelkonkurrenz aus 16 Paaren. Das Gesamtpreisgeld betrug 547.000 Euro; die gesamten finanziellen Verbindlichkeiten lagen bei 568.000 Euro. (de)
