- The 2008 Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon was a men's tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts. It was the 22nd edition of the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon, and was part of the International Series of the 2008 ATP Tour. It took place at the Palais des Sports de Gerland in Lyon, France, from 20 October through 26 October 2008. The singles line up featured ATP No. 8, US Open quarterfinalist, San Jose, Dubai and Beijing champion, Los Angeles runner-up Andy Roddick, Stuttgart finalist Richard Gasquet, and Australian Open runner-up, Bangkok winner Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Also present were Casablanca, Indianapolis and Bucharest titlist Gilles Simon, Båstad winner Tommy Robredo, Ivo Karlović, Robin Söderling and Paul-Henri Mathieu. Seventh-seeded Robin Söderling won the singles title. (en)
- Der Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon 2008 war ein Tennisturnier, welches vom 20. bis 26. Oktober 2008 in Lyon stattfand. Es war Teil der ATP Tour 2008 und wurde in der Halle auf Teppich ausgetragen. Es war auf der Tour 2008 das letzte verbliebene Turnier, das noch auf diesem Belag gespielt wurde, ehe ab 2009 keine Teppichbeläge mehr auf World-Tour-Niveau erlaubt waren. In derselben Woche wurden in Basel die Davidoff Swiss Indoors Basel sowie in Sankt Petersburg die St. Petersburg Open gespielt. Beide zählen genau wie das Turnier in Lyon zur Kategorie der International Series. Sébastien Grosjean war der Titelverteidiger im Einzel, der dieses Jahr, mit einer Wildcard ausgestattet, in der ersten Runde ausschied. Im Finale siegte der Setzlistensiebte Robin Söderling in drei Sätzen mit 6:3, 6:75, 6:1 gegen den ungesetzten Julien Benneteau und gewann damit seinen dritten Titel, nachdem er bereits 2004 in Lyon siegreich war. Auch im Doppel war Grosjean zusammen mit Jo-Wilfried Tsonga im vorherigen Jahr erfolgreich, sie konnten dieses Jahr verletzungsbedingt nicht zum Viertelfinalmatch antreten. Im Finale setzten sich Michaël Llodra und Andy Ram gegen Stephen Huss und Ross Hutchins mit 6:3, 5:7, [10:8] durch. Das Teilnehmerfeld der Einzelkonkurrenz bestand aus 32 Spielern, jenes der Doppelkonkurrenz aus 16 Paaren. Das Gesamtpreisgeld betrug 692.000 Euro; die gesamten finanziellen Verbindlichkeiten lagen bei 713.000 Euro. (de)

Outre une très forte délégation française (14 représentants), dont Richard Gasquet et Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, l'Américain et ancien no 1 mondial, Andy Roddick se présente au tournoi. Cette édition voit la seconde victoire dans le tournoi, après celle de 2004, du Suédois Robin Söderling. Il bat en finale le Français Julien Benneteau. Dernier tournoi ATP à être joué sur moquette indoor, il passe au dur indoor en 2009. La moquette devenue proscrite par l'ATP car elle cause plus de blessures aux articulations, l'ITF l'utilise toujours en Coupe Davis. (fr)
