The 1980 Davis Cup was the 69th edition of the Davis Cup, the most important tournament between national teams in men's tennis. 52 teams would enter the competition, 30 in the Europe Zone, 12 in the Americas Zone, and 10 in the Eastern Zone. Argentina defeated the United States in the Americas Inter-Zonal final, Australia defeated New Zealand in the Eastern Zone final, and Italy and Czechoslovakia were the winners of the two Europe Zones, defeating Sweden and Romania respectively.

Byl posledním ročníkem, který se hrál systémem kontinentálních zón, od roku 1981 byla z šestnácti nejlepších týmů vytvořena Světová skupina. Zúčastnilo se ho 52 zemí. Vítězem se poprvé v historii stalo mužstvo Československa, které ve finále hraném 5.–7. prosince 1980 v pražské Sportovní hale porazilo Itálii. Vítězný tým tvořili Ivan Lendl, který vyhrál všech deset svých zápasů, Tomáš Šmíd, Pavel Složil a Jan Kodeš, nehrajícím kapitánem byl a trenéry a . V úvodním zápase porazil Šmíd Adriana Panattu, ačkoli k zápasu nastoupil se žaludečními problémy.
