- Die Convention People’s Party (CPP) ist eine politische Partei Ghanas. Die heutige CPP sieht sich in der Tradition der 1949 gegründeten CPP von Kwame Nkrumah, dem Premierminister der Goldküste ab 1952 und erster Präsident der Republik Ghana ab 1960. Die moderne CPP entstand im Jahre 1998 durch den Zusammenschluss der 1992 gegründeten National Convention Party mit der 1993 gegründeten People’s Convention Party. Zunächst nannte man sich Convention Party, der heutige Name wurde im Jahre 2000 angenommen. Die CPP versteht sich selbst als eine Volkspartei der Massen, in der sich Fischer, Bauern, die städtische Bevölkerung, die Reichen und die Armen allesamt gleich wiederfinden. Ihre Mitglieder und Anhänger werden in Ghana allgemein als Nkrumahisten bezeichnet. Bei den Parlamentswahlen 2012 verlor die CPP ihren einzigen Sitz im ghanaischen Parlament.

- The Convention People's Party (CPP) is a socialist political party in Ghana based on the ideas of the first President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah. The CPP was formed in June 1949 after Nkrumah broke away from the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC). Nkrumah was the then appointed Secretaty General of the UGCC when he was arrested by the leader of the UGCC and imprisoned for an alleged thought, plans and power against Kwame Nkrumah's leadership. Kwame Nkrumah then formed the Convention People's Party with support of some UGCC members and had a purpose for self governance. Upon Kwame Nkrumah's leadership with the CPP, he orgranized a non violent protest and strike for support of the purpose for self-governance which took him to imprisonment for a second time, but he was released after winning a massive vote by the CPP following the colonies election general election whilst he was in prison. The CPP followers supported Nkrumah's ideas and voted for him massive for power of self-governance. Issues that led to the formation of the CPP, struggles with the colonial powers led by Kwame Nkrumah and finally the attainment of Ghana's independence were part of the key concerns for this write up. - Le Parti de la convention du peuple (Convention People's Party, CPP) (en akan, Apam Nkorɔfo Kuw) est un parti politique ghanéen d'inspiration socialiste fondé sur les idées de l’ancien président Kwame Nkrumah. Le CPP est fondé le 12 juin 1949 par Kwame Nkrumah afin de faire campagne pour l'indépendance de la Côte-de-l'Or, à l'époque colonie britannique, actuel Ghana. Il est le parti de Nkrumah à l'époque de la colonie britannique autonome de 1951 à 1957 et durant les premières années du Ghana indépendant, de 1957 à 1966. La constitution est modifiée en 1964 pour faire du CPP le seul parti légal, faisant ainsi du Ghana un pays à parti unique. Le CPP est interdit après le coup d'État du 24 février 1966, perpétré par le National Liberation Council. Les partis qui poursuivent sa tradition utiliseront diverses dénominations. Rappresentò l'unico partito ammesso nel Ghana dal 1964 fino al 1966, quando un colpo di Stato rovesciò il governo del Presidente Nkrumah e istituì una giunta militare, il Consiglio di Liberazione Nazionale, con a capo Joseph Arthur Ankrah. Il partito si è ricostituito nel 1996 a seguito della confluenza di due distinte formazioni politiche:
* il People's Convention Party;
* il National Convention Party (Partito della Convenzione Nazionale). È guidato da Samia Nkrumah, figlia dell'ex Presidente. (it)
