Vincenzo Maculani (11 September 1578 – 16 February 1667) was an Italian Catholic Cardinal, inquisitor and military architect. He was known as a severe man, harsh and without compassion, who preferred the black cappa of his order to the brighter red he was later entitled to wear as a cardinal.

  • Vincenzo Maculani OP (* 11. September 1578 in Fiorenzuola d’Arda bei Piacenza; † 16. Februar 1667 in Rom), auch Fra Fiorenzuola, Vincenzo Maculano oder Gaspare Maculano genannt, war ein Kardinal der katholischen Kirche. Maculani trat zunächst in den Dominikanerkonvent von Pavia ein. In Genua und Gavi wirkte er als Militärarchitekt. Maculani war Mitglied der Kurie. Als Generalkommissar nahm er am Prozess gegen Galileo Galilei teil. Bis 1644 war er Erzbischof von Benevent. Papst Urban VIII. ernannte Maculani im Jahre 1639 zum Magister sacri palatii des Apostolischen Palastes und erhob ihn am 10. oder 16. Dezember 1641 zum Kardinalpriester mit der Titelkirche San Clemente. Nur kurz, von 1642 bis 1643, war er Erzbischof von Benevent. Kardinal Maculani starb 1667 und liegt heute in der Kirche Santa Sabina in Rom begraben. (de)
