- Das Gibson Amphitheatre (bis 2005 Universal Amphitheatre) war eine Veranstaltungshalle in der Universal City. Bei Konzerten fanden bis zu 6.189 Personen Platz. Der Veranstaltungsort wurde ursprünglich als Open Air-Venue erbaut. Das Musical Jesus Christ Superstar war die erste Produktion, die 1973 im Amphitheater aufgeführt wurde, jedoch wegen ungünstiger Wetterbedingungen eingestellt werden musste. Im Jahr 1982 wurde es in eine Halle umgebaut, um die Akustik zu verbessern. Seit seiner Eröffnung trug der Veranstaltungsort den Namen Universal Amphitheatre und wurde im Jahr 2005 nach einem Verkauf der Namensrechte an die Gibson Guitar Corporation umbenannt. Hier fanden regelmäßig die MTV Movie Awards und die Teen Choice Awards statt. Am 6. Dezember 2011 wurde bekannt, dass das Gibson Amphitheatre abgerissen wird, um Platz für einen Harry-Potter-Themenpark zu schaffen. Im September 2013 waren jeweils zwei Auftritte der Backstreet Boys und des Musikers die letzten in der Veranstaltungshalle. Successivamente è stata convertita come anfiteatro al chiuso nel 1982 per migliorarne l'acustica. La struttura è stata demolita il 6 settembre 2013. Nel 2005 l'anfiteatro aveva cambiato nome in Gibson Amphitheatre dopo che i suoi diritti erano stati acquistati dalla Gibson Guitar Corporation. Oggi il luogo in cui sorgeva la struttura ospita l'attrazione The Wizarding World of Harry Potter del parco tematico Universal Studios Hollywood. (it)

O Anfiteatro Gibson tinha capacidade para 6 189 pagantes, incluindo 6 089 cadeiras (3 900 no nível principal e 2 189 no andar superior). No momento em que foi fechado, era o terceiro maior anfiteatro da Califórnia, somente atrás do Shrine Auditorium e do Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie, havendo outros dois teatros sem teto em Los Angeles com capacidade superior. O local era conhecido por sua excelente acústica e iluminação, considerado um dos melhores anfiteatros dos Estados Unidos na época. O teatro foi conhecido como Universal Amphitheatre até ser modernizado em 2005 e seus direitos comprados pela Gibson Guitar Corporation.
