- Das United World College in Mostar (UWC Mostar, bosnisch, kroatisch, serbisch Koledž Ujedinjenog svijeta u Mostaru) wurde im Jahre 2006 durch Königin Noor von Jordanien als zwölftes United World College eröffnet.UWC Mostar ist das erste UWC mit dem unmittelbaren Ziel, zur Versöhnung in einem vom Krieg gezeichneten Land beizutragen. Im Gegensatz zu den nationalen Schulen lernen hier die Kinder der verfeindeten Volksgruppen gemeinsam in einer Klasse. Ergänzt werden sie durch Schüler aus weiteren 50 Nationen, die von unabhängigen UWC-Nationalkomitees ausschließlich nach Eignung und Begabung ausgewählt werden. Das College will aufzeigen, dass es auch miteinander geht, und leistet damit einen direkten Beitrag zur Überwindung der ethnischen Segregation im Erziehungssystem. Die zwei Jahre am College werden mit dem International Baccalaureate Diploma, einer international anerkannten Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, abgeschlossen. - The United World College in Mostar (UWC Mostar) (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian Latin: Koledž Ujedinjenog svijeta u Mostaru) is a part of the United World College, founded by (UN Special Rapporteur on the Secretary General for the United Nations Mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina 1995-1999) and Lamija Tanović (Chair, Humanity in Action Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 2006 and officially opened by Queen Noor of Jordan. UWC Mostar is the first UWC with an explicit aim to contribute to the reconstruction of a post-conflict society and also the first to be housed within an existing public school (see also Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina).UWC Mostar is the twelfth college in the United World Colleges family and the fourth college in Europe. UWC Mostar was founded (key founding members Elisabeth Rehn and Lamija Tanović) as a joint initiative of UWC and the International Baccalaureate Organization with the aim to support the peace process in the country and the region. From January 2011, UWC Mostar is part of Foundation Education in Action which is a legal successor of UWC-IB Initiative in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Chair of the Governing Board is Pilvi Torsti, Chair of the College Board is Jasminka Bratić (who is also a member of the school's Governing Board). UWC Mostar (165-200 students) shares the building with Gimnazija Mostar (approx. 650 students). Before the war this school, also known as the Old Gymnasium, built in 1898 - 1902 during the Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was one of the finest schools in ex-Yugoslavia. However, as consequence of the Bosnian War, nowadays Gymnasium Mostar teaches two national separate secondary school curricula, intended for Croat and Bosniak students. UWC Mostar students come from all ethnic groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as from the region and abroad. All students live, study and serve the community together creating a unique example of integrated education in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina. The college also serves as the Centre for Professional Development of Teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina who receive training in international educational standards. (en)
- Il Collegio del Mondo Unito di Mostar (in inglese United World College in Mostar, abbreviato in UWCIM, in Bosniaco Koledž ujedinjenog svijeta u Mostaru, in Croato Koledž ujedinjenog svijeta u Mostaru, in Serbo Колеџ уједињеног света у Мостару) è una scuola internazionale che fa parte dei (United World Colleges o UWC), un movimento internazionale che riunisce studenti da tutto il mondo, selezionati solo sulla base del merito, con lo scopo di promuovere la pace a la cooperazione internazionale. La scuola è frequentata da circa 200 studenti (nonostante questa cifra possa variare sensibilmente di anno in anno), di età compresa tra 16 e 19 anni, provenienti da diversi paesi del mondo. Il Collegio offre un programma di studio biennale finalizzato al conseguimento del Baccellierato Internazionale, un titolo riconosciuto in più di 80 paesi, equipollente al Diploma di maturità della scuola italiana. UWCIM è il dodicesimo Collegio del Mondo Unito, il quarto in Europa, ed è stato istituito come parte dell'iniziativa dei Collegi del Mondo Unito in Bosnia ed Erzegovina. Esso è il primo dei Collegi del Mondo Unito ad essere situato in una situazione post-conflitto. UWC Mostar) — приватний міжнародний коледж у Мостарі, столиці Герцеговинсько-Неретванського кантону. Коледж входить до мережі Коледжів об'єднаного світу. У коледжі навчаються учні віком 16 — 19 років (11 та 12 класи). Претенденти на навчання відбираються на конкурсній основі національними комітетами Коледжів об'єднаного світу, які функціонують більше, ніж у 150 країнах світу. Претенденти з України відбираються національним комітетом «UWC Україна». Основні критерії відбору наведені на сайті комітету. Фіналістом відбору на 2016-2018 навчальні роки був український учень Сапронов Микола. У коледжі проводяться курси «“Waves for changes” у Мостарі», у яких беруть активну участь і учні з України. (uk)
