- قرار مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة 1568، المتخذ بالإجماع في 22 تشرين الأول / أكتوبر 2004، بعد إعادة التأكيد على جميع القرارات المتعلقة بالحالة في قبرص، ولا سيما القرار 1251 (1999)، مدد المجلس ولاية قوة الأمم المتحدة لحفظ السلام في قبرص لمزيد من الفترة حتى 15 يونيو 2005. ودعا مجلس الأمن كلاً من قبرص وشمال قبرص إلى معالجة القضية الإنسانية للمفقودين على وجه السرعة. ورحبت بمراجعة الأمين العام كوفي عنان لقوة الأمم المتحدة لحفظ السلام في قبرص على النحو المطلوب في القرار 1548 (2004) وبتقييمه بأن العنف في الجزيرة غير مرجح على نحو متزايد. وبتوسيع ولاية قوة الأمم المتحدة لحفظ السلام في قبرص، طلب القرارمن الأمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا إلى المجلس عن تنفيذ القرار الحالي، ويؤيد كذلك تعديلاته على مفهوم العمليات ومستوى القوة في القوة عن طريق خفض مستويات القوات وزيادة عدد أفراد الشرطة زيادة طفيفة. وحث الجانب القبرصي التركي على إعادة الوضع العسكري إلى ما كان عليه في ستروفيليا قبل 30 حزيران / يونيه 2000، ودعا إلى إنهاء القيود المفروضة على عمليات قوة الأمم المتحدة لحفظ السلام في قبرص. - La Resolució 1568 del Consell de Seguretat de les Nacions Unides fou adoptada per unanimitat el 22 d'octubre de 2004. Després de reafirmar totes les resolucions sobre la situació a Xipre, en particular la resolució 1251 (1999), el Consell va prorrogar el mandat de la Força de les Nacions Unides pel Manteniment de la Pau a Xipre (UNFICYP) per un període addicional fins al 15 de juny de 2005. El Consell de Seguretat va demanar a Xipre i Xipre del Nord que abordessin amb urgència la qüestió humanitària de les persones desaparegudes. Va donar la benvinguda a la revisió de la UNFICYP pel Secretari General Kofi Annan tal com es va demanar a la Resolució 1548 (2004) i la seva valoració que la violència a l'illa era cada vegada més improbable. El secretari general durà a terme una nova revisió de l'operació de les Nacions Unides a Xipre a partir de l'evolució sobre el terreny i les opinions de les parts iimplicades. - United Nations Security Council resolution 1568, adopted unanimously on 22 October 2004, after reaffirming all resolutions on the situation in Cyprus, particularly Resolution 1251 (1999), the council extended the mandate of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) for an additional period until 15 June 2005. The security council called on both Cyprus and Northern Cyprus to urgently address the humanitarian issue of missing persons. It welcomed the Secretary-General Kofi Annan's review of UNFICYP as requested in Resolution 1548 (2004) and his assessment that violence on the island was increasingly unlikely. The Secretary-General would conduct a further review of the United Nations operation in Cyprus based on developments on the ground and the views of the parties concerned. Extending UNFICYP's mandate, the resolution requested the Secretary-General to report to the council on the implementation of the current resolution, further endorsing his amendments to the concept of operations and force level of UNFICYP by reducing troop levels and slightly increasing the number of police. It urged the Turkish Cypriot side to restore the military status quo at Strovilia prior to 30 June 2000 and called for an end to restrictions imposed on UNFICYP operations. (en)
