- Ein Triathlonrad ist ein speziell für den Triathlon entwickelter Fahrradtyp. Da im Triathlon häufig Windschattenverbot besteht, d. h. die Teilnehmer dürfen nicht dicht hintereinander herfahren, sondern müssen einen bestimmten Mindestabstand (in der Regel zehn Meter) einhalten, sollte der Luftwiderstand der Gesamtkonstruktion eines Triathlonrades möglichst niedrig sein. Triathlonräder sind im Vergleich zu reinen Rennrädern etwas schwerer, dafür jedoch aerodynamischer, was den Nachteil des etwas höheren Gewichtes mehr als aufwiegt. (de)
