- جائزة البوبز (بالإنجليزية: The BOBs) اختصار لمصطلح (Best of the Blogs) هي أكبر جائزة عالمية في مجال التدوين ومواقع الويب، تأسسست عام 2004 وترعاها إذاعة صوت ألمانيا (دويتشه فيله) ، تمنح جائزة البوبز للمدونين والنشطاء والصحفيين الداعمين لحرية الرأي وتفتح مجالاً للنقاش عبر الإنترنت والمدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان. تعد جائزة البوبز هي المسابقة العالمية الوحيدة في هذا المجال، وتنشر في 14 لغة هي: العربية والبنغالية والصينية والألمانية والإنجليزية والفرنسية والهندية والإندونيسية والفارسية والبرتغالية والروسية والاسبانية والتركية والأوكرانية، وفي عام 2015 لأول مرة سوف تمنح جائزة حرية الرأي والتعبير كأفضل جائزة. - The BOBs (Best of the Blogs) sind internationale Weblog-Awards, die seit 2004 jährlich vom deutschen Auslandssender Deutsche Welle vergeben werden. Bei den BOBs legt die Deutsche Welle ein besonderes Augenmerk auf die Förderung von Informations- und Pressefreiheit in vielen Ländern der Erde. Seit 2005 vergibt die Deutsche Welle in Kooperation mit Reporter ohne Grenzen den Reporters Without Borders Award. Für die BOBs können Weblogs, Podcasts oder Videoblogs aus aller Welt vorgeschlagen werden, die in einer der folgenden elf Wettbewerbssprachen geschrieben oder produziert sind: Arabisch, Chinesisch, Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch, Indonesisch, Bengalisch, Persisch, Portugiesisch, Russisch, Ukrainisch, Türkisch, Hindi und Spanisch. - Best of the Blogs (The BOBs) is een jaarlijkse internationale weblog verkiezing waarbij de beste weblogs in vijf categorieën worden bekroond. Het initiatief voor de Best of the Blogs werd in 2004 genomen door Deutsche Welle, dat de competitie organiseert in tien talen. Sinds 2005 organiseert Radio Nederland Wereldomroep de Nederlandse versie van deze competitie. De Arabische competitie wordt door de Wereldomroep mede-georganiseerd. The BOBs starten jaarlijks op 31 augustus; International Weblog Day. Publiek en jury kunnen bij deze verkiezing bepalen welke weblogs boven de rest uitstijgen. Kenmerkend voor the BOBs is de indeling in categorieën, waardoor ook minder bekende blogs in de prijzen kunnen vallen. Zo zijn er naast de categorie beste weblog ook prijzen voor beste audio- en video-podcast, een blogwurst award voor het meest banale, schokkende of excentrieke weblog, een Reporters zonder Grenzen Award voor inzet voor vrijheid van meningsuiting en een beste weblog per taal. In 2006 behaalde GeenStijl de vierde plek in de strijd om de blogwurst award, werd achtste bij categorie Reporters zonder Grenzen. Wim de Bies weblog genaamd Bieslog krijgt een eervolle vermelding van het publiek in de categorie watchblog. Frankwatching.com werd in 2007 gekozen als beste Nederlandstalige weblog, werd zesde in categorie beste weblog. (nl)

O evento, realizado em 31 de agosto, dia reconhecido internacionalmente como Dia do Blog, era celebrado com uma cerimônia aberta ao público no Museu da Comunicação de Berlim em meados de novembro, na qual eram anunciados os ganhadores. O fomento da liberdade de expressão e de imprensa no mundo é o principal objetivo almejado pela Deutsche Welle ao promover tal evento. Desde 2005, uma das categorias centrais do The BOBs é o Prêmio Repórteres Sem Fronteiras, concedido pela DW em parceria com a organização não-governamental Repórteres Sem Fronteiras (RSF) ao melhor weblog engajado na luta pela liberdade de expressão.
