Various organizations have started blog awards with varying success. There is the Weblog Award as well as the Bloggies. The UK newspaper The Guardian ran a Best British Blog competition in 2002 and another in 2003, but then stopped because of limited enthusiasm from the UK weblogging community and a few public boycotts. . In 2007, the Greek Blog Awards organized a public vote based competition, giving awards to 12 weblogs in different categories.
