The defining biochemical feature of the restriction point is the activation of G1/S- and S-phase cyclin-CDK complexes, which in turn phosphorylate proteins that initiate DNA replication, centrosome duplication, and other early cell cycle events. Точка рестрикции делит G1-фазу на два периода. В ходе первого из них (до R) для продвижения клетки по циклу ей необходима постоянная стимуляция митогенными сигналами (в том числе факторами роста), а также интенсивный синтез белка. После прохождения R подобная стимуляция уже не требуется. (ru)
