- Nintendo System Development Division, commonly abbreviated as Nintendo SDD and formerly known as Nintendo Network Business & Development (NBD), Nintendo Network Service Development (NSD), and Nintendo Special Planning & Development (SPD), was a Japanese division located in the Nintendo Research Institute in Kyoto, Japan, until it moved to the Nintendo Development Center, also in Kyoto. The division consisted of a single development team that focused on software and peripheral development. SDD was composed of two development departments with different duties: the Network Development & Operations Department, which handled Nintendo Network service programming, in cooperation with Nintendo Network Service Database, and the Environment Development Department, which developed Software Development Kits (SDKs), among other technologies. La divisione consisteva in un singolo team di sviluppo (proveniente principalmente da Nintendo R&D2, predecessore della divisione SDD) che si occupava della produzione di software e hardware. SDD era composto da due dipartimenti di sviluppo con compiti differenziati: il Network Development & Operations Department, che si occupava della programmazione del servizio Nintendo Network, in collaborazione con Nintendo Network Service Database, e l'Environment Development Department, che sviluppava, tra le altre tecnologie, il Software Development Kits (SDKs). Il team è stato responsabile principalmente dello sviluppo interno per hardware di basso profilo come Pokémon mini e Super Famicom Satellaview. La maggior parte dei software sviluppati dal gruppo sono stati distribuiti solo in Giappone e non sono mai usciti dalla nazione. Ela foi criada em 1997 a partir de uma equipe da Nintendo Research & Development 2 e manteve-se ativa até setembro de 2015, quando foi fundida com a Nintendo Integrated Research & Development para formar a Nintendo Platform Technology Development. A divisão teve diversos nomes durante sua existência; ela foi fundada como Nintendo Special Planning & Development, sendo renomeada em 2008 para Nintendo Network Service Development, em 2011 para Nintendo Network Business & Development e em 2013 para Nintendo System Development.
