Neuromuscular blocking agents, or in abbreviation, NMBAs, are chemical agents that paralyse skeletal muscles by blocking the movement of neurotransmitter at the neuromuscular junction. They are often used during general anesthesia to optimize intubating and surgical conditions, specifically to facilitate endotracheal intubation.
