- Lucio Cecchinello (Venetië, 21 oktober 1969) is een voormalige Italiaans motorcoureur, nu teameigenaar van het LCR (Lucio Cecchinello Rasing) Honda GP team. Cecchinello maakte in 1993 zijn debuut in de 125cc-klasse van het wereldkampioenschap wegrace op een . Op een niet competitieve motor wist hij geen enkel punt te scoren. Desondanks stapte hij in 1994 over naar een Honda en wist in drie races in de punten te eindigen. In 1995 stapte hij over naar de 125cc-klasse van het Europees kampioenschap wegrace en werd kampioen met acht overwinningen uit elf races. In 1996 keerde hij terug in het wereldkampioenschap op een Honda met zijn eigen team, Team LCR. Na twee jaren in de middenmoot te hebben gereden, boekte hij in de Grand Prix van Madrid in 1998 zijn eerste Grand Prix-overwinning. Tevens eindigde hij op het podium in Tsjechië en Argentinië. Ook in 1999 behaalde hij podiumplaatsen in Spanje, Duitsland, Tsjechië en Australië. Nadat hij in 2000 niet op het podium stond, stapte hij in 2001 over naar een Aprilia en behaalde zijn tweede overwinning in de Grand Prix van Catalonië. In 2002 beleefde hij zijn beste seizoen met overwinningen in Spanje, Frankrijk en Tsjechië, waardoor hij als vierde in het kampioenschap eindigde. In 2003 behaalde hij overwinningen in Spanje en Italië en stond na de laatste race samen met Dani Pedrosa aan de leiding in het kampioenschap. Hierna wist hij nog slechts drie keer punten te scoren en eindigde het seizoen als negende. Na afloop van het seizoen stopte hij met racen.

- Lucio Cecchinello, född 21 oktober 1969 i Venedig, är en italiensk tidigare roadracingförare. Han tävlade i Roadracing Grand Prix i 125GP-klassen från 1993 till 2003 med ett uppehåll 1995. Cecchinello vann totalt sju Grand Prix-segrar och kom som bäst fyra i VM. Cecchinello gjorde VM-debut 1993 på en motorcykel av märket Gazzaniga. Han deltog i 12 race utan att ta poäng. Året därefter körde han Honda och tog sina första poäng. 1995 fick han inget kontrakt med något team, så till 1996 hade han startat ett eget - Team LCR. Cecchinello körde Honda i sitt eget team med allt bättre resultat. Första Grand Prix-segern vann han 1998 i . Det året slutade han femma i VM. Efter två lite sämre säsonger på Honda fick Cecchinello en styrning för Aprilia till Roadracing-VM 2001. Han vann en seger och tog ytterligare tre pallplatser och slutade fyra i VM. Roadracing-VM 2002 vann Cecchinello tre GP-segrar och blev tvåa två gånger. Men han bröt även fem tävlingar och blev därför inte bättre än fyra i VM. 2003 kom att bli Cecchinellos sista år som VM-förare. Säsongen började mycket bra med två segrar och en tredjeplats de fem första deltävlingarna. Sedan blev det inga fler bra placeringar och Cecchinello slutade som nia i världsmästerskapen. Från 2002 var Cecchinello även teamchef i 250GP. Efter racingkarriären fortsatte han att utveckla Team LCR och tog det till MotoGP-klassen 1996 i samarbete med Honda. (sv)
