She attended Grammar School and the London School of Dramatic Art, before appearing in repertory theatre in Accrington. Fraser is known for her many appearances in British films and television series, including Hancock's Half Hour and Last of the Summer Wine and The Avengers episode "The Man from Auntie". Despite her prolific television work she has never appeared as a regular in any programme .
