Lansingerland is a municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. It was formed on 1 January 2007, by the merger of the municipalities of Berkel en Rodenrijs, Bleiswijk and Bergschenhoek, collectively known as the "B-Triangle". The former municipality of Tempel, abolished in 1855, is also part of Lansingerland. De gemeente maakt deel uit van de Metropoolregio Rotterdam Den Haag. In 2005 en 2006 werd B-driehoek als werknaam gebruikt voor de drie toenmalige gemeenten, waarna voor de naam Lansingerland werd gekozen. Deze naam is gekozen uit een prijsvraag en komt voort uit de naam Lansingh, de waterstaatkundige landscheiding tussen Delfland en Schieland die tussen de dorpen van de B-driehoek door loopt. De keuze van de naam is symbolisch: de naam van de grens die het gebied verdeeld heeft, verenigt de drie gemeenten aan weerszijden van de grens. Er is voor gekozen om de -h- in Lansingh weg te laten. Op 18 september 2007 werd Ewald van Vliet geïnstalleerd als eerste officiële burgemeester van Lansingerland, daarvoor was er korte tijd een waarnemend burgemeester. Op 27 augustus 2012 werd een nieuw gemeentehuis te Bergschenhoek in gebruik genomen. Sinds 14 september 2015 is Pieter van de Stadt de burgemeester. (nl)
