Februar 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia) war ein US-amerikanischer Muslimführer afroamerikanischer Abstammung, der mit hasserfüllten Reden gegen Juden, Weiße und Homosexuelle für Aufmerksamkeit gesorgt hatte. 1970 trat er der Nation of Islam bei, die als wichtigste schwarze Muslimorganisation gilt. Dort machte er Karriere, nahm sehr bald wichtige Posten ein und fungierte als persönlicher Assistent von Louis Farrakhan. 1993 kam es zum Bruch mit Farrakhan. Anschließend trug Muhammad maßgeblich dazu bei, die „New Black Panther Party“ zu gründen. (de)
- Khalid Abdul Muhammad (born Harold Moore Jr.; January 12, 1948 – February 17, 2001) was an African-American Muslim minister and activist who became a prominent figure in the Nation of Islam and later the New Black Panther Party. After a racially inflammatory 1993 speech at Kean College, Muhammad was condemned and removed from his position in the Nation of Islam by Louis Farrakhan. He was also censured by both Houses of the United States Congress. After being removed from the Nation of Islam, he served as the National Chairman of the New Black Panther Party until his death in 2001 from a brain aneurysm. He advocated black independence and stated a personal practice of anti-miscegenation. (en)

Após um discurso racialmente inflamatório na Universidade Kean em 1993, Muhammad foi condenado e removido de sua posição na Nação do Islã por Louis Farrakhan. Também foi censurado pelas duas Casas do Congresso dos Estados Unidos. Após ser removido da Nação do Islã ele serviu como Presidente Nacional do Novo Partido dos Panteras Negras até morrer de um aneurisma cerebral em 2001. Apesar da polêmica que sempre seguiu sua imagem, suas denúncias fortes e não apologéticas contra a supremacia branca lhe renderam o apoio da comunidade negra. (pt)
