- Das Internationale Institut für Angewandte Systemanalyse (IIASA, International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis) ist ein unabhängiges internationales Forschungsinstitut mit seinem Sitz in Laxenburg bei Wien (Österreich). Mit Hilfe seiner Forschungsprogramme und Initiativen betreibt das IIASA politisch relevante interdisziplinäre Forschung auf Gebieten, die zu umfangreich oder zu komplex sind, um von einem einzelnen Land oder einer einzelnen wissenschaftlichen Disziplin bewältigt zu werden. - The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) is an independent international research institute located in Laxenburg, near Vienna, in Austria. Through its research programs and initiatives, the institute conducts policy-oriented interdisciplinary research into issues too large or complex to be solved by a single country or academic discipline. This includes pressing concerns that affect the future of humanity, such as climate change, energy security, population aging, and sustainable development. The results of IIASA research and the expertise of its researchers are made available to policymakers in countries around the world to help them produce effective policies that will enable them to face these challenges. - IIASA, siglas en inglés de International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, es una organización internacional de investigación científica multidisciplinaria, localizada en Laxenburg, Austria, cerca de Viena. Es considerado uno de los más prestigiados think tanks integrales del mundo. El instituto es regido por un Consejo Consultivo (IIASA Council Board) integrado por representantes de las Organizaciones Nacionales Miembro, a saber, 28 países, en su mayoría de Europa, Norteamérica y Japón. En sus orígenes, durante la guerra fría, sirvió de puente entre científicos de los bloques socialista y capitalista, pero que a partir de la caída del Muro de Berlín ha servido de canal de interlocución científica entre oriente y occidente, lo que de alguna manera demuestra el reciente ingreso de China e India. Destaca la ausencia de países de habla-hispana de entre sus miembros, siendo la Colosio Fellowship el único vínculo al respecto. En general, los proyectos de IIASA son análisis mundiales de diferentes problemas tanto de la ciencia pura como de políticas públicas, lo que, desde hace más de dos décadas, han convertido a este instituto en principal fuente de consulta de los organismos internacionales situados en Viena, como CTBTO, IAEA, y UNIDO, así como de la Unesco, el IPCC, UNEP, el Banco Mundial y el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo. Пізніше приєдналися Австрія, Бразилія, Китай, Єгипет, Фінляндія, Німеччина, Індія, Індонезія, Республіка Корея, Малайзія, Норвегія, Пакистан, ПАР, Швеція, Україна, Японія. У Радянському Союзі 4 червня 1976 р. — як радянський філія Міжнародного інституту прикладного системного аналізу був організований (ВНДІСІ, нині Інститут системного аналізу РАН). У МІПСА працює близько 100 вчених з різних країн і багато тимчасових співробітників.Проводить дослідження з проблем в галузі довкілля, економіки, технології та соціальній сфері.
