- Fake és una manga creat per . El seu gènere és yaoi, un terme japonès per expressar la representació artística, eròtica o romàntica de relacions d'amor homosexual entre homes. És un gènere destinat a les dones. Originalment fou publicat per l'editorial , del 1994 al 2000. Matho arribà a publicar set còmics, també existeix un OVA de la sèrie. A Espanya, el manga fou publicat per Norma editorial el 2005. El 2007 Sanami Matoh va reprendre aquesta obra. L'anomenà Fake: Second Season, apareix publicada a la revista Hug. De moment, no es preveu una edició d'aquesta nova obra a Espanya o en un altre país, només s'ha publicat en Japó. Fake, protagonitzat per Randy "Ryo" MacLean i Dee Latener, narra la història d'amor i de vida que sorgeix entre dos detectius del departament policial de Nova York. La seva relació es veurà sovint afectada pels diversos casos que resoldran, i pels personatges que aniran prenent protagonisme al llarg dels volums. The story focuses in a romance between Randy "Ryo" Maclean and Dee Laytner, two New York City detectives from the fictitious 27th precinct. An anime version of the fifth act (or chapter) from the second manga is also available, in the form of an OVA. Fake was first published as seven volumes by Biblos, but after the company went bankrupt in 2006, Fake was republished by Mediation as five volumes, with one newly drawn extra story featured at the back of each. Fake's English translation is published by Tokyopop in the United States of America, and by Madman Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand. All seven volumes are available in English. The one-off sequel "Like, like love" is only available in Japan as a part of an art book by Matoh. On May 12, 2007, the manga Fake "Second Season", a sequel, premiered in a new Japanese magazine called , also published by Mediation. There is currently no news on North American licensing. (en)
