- تخضير الصحراء بالإنجليزية Desert greening مجموعة من الأساليب الزراعية الحديثة تستخدم لتنشيط الدورة الطبيعية في الصحراء وبوسائل طبيعية أو وسائل تقنية حديثة ، كما أنها تستخدم في الأراضي الصحراوية الحارة الشبه قاحلة والقاحلة ولا تستخدم في مايعرف بالأراضي الجليدية الشديدة البرودة. انشئت سنة 2005 من طرف مغترب جزائري في ألمانيا. تسعى هاته المظمة الخيرية لتخضير الصحراء وخصوصا الجزائرية باستعمال طرق وتقنيات بسيطة تعم بالمنفعة على الفرد والمجتمع. - Desert greening is the process of man-made reclamation of deserts for ecological reasons (biodiversity), farming and forestry, but also for reclamation of natural water systems and other ecological systems that support life. The term "desert greening" is intended to apply to both cold and hot arid and semi-arid deserts (see Köppen climate classification system). It does not apply to ice capped or permafrost regions. Desert greening has the potential to help solve global water, energy, and food crises. It pertains to roughly 32 million square kilometres of land. (en)
- 砂漠緑化（さばくりょくか）は、砂漠に草木を植えること、あるいはそれらが育つような算段をすることをいう。「さばくりょっか」と読まれることも多い。 砂漠の緑化の試みは世界各地で行なわれており、その主な目的を以下に挙げる。
* 砂漠化進行の阻止
* 農地の拡大による食糧・エネルギー生産量の増加
* 二酸化炭素の固定による地球温暖化防止 活動の主体はNGO・企業・政府などさまざまである。温暖化防止を主目的として緑化を行っていることが多く、京都議定書の影響がうかがわれる。また、（企業）イメージの向上も目的に含まれることがあると思われる。 (ja)
