- Congreso (lit. 'Congress') is a musical band from Chile. Founded in 1969 in Quilpué, it is a highly acclaimed band with over 50 years of experience fusioning and developing Latin American music. Began their career in the late 1960s linked to New Chilean Song movement, however with the advent of the military dictatorship and cultural constraints of the time, added to the great instrumental vocation of its members, they evolved into a progressive rock style, and later to a fusion sound that incorporated elements also from jazz fusion, contemporary music, pop music, and world music, in a style named by them as The New Latinamerican Music. It is one of the most important bands in the history of the Chilean music, both for his refined musical compositions with lyrics of social and ethnic content, as well as by the good reception of the national and international public and critics. Formed together with Los Jaivas and Los Blops, is one of the cornerstones in the new Chilean progressive sound and the 'Chilenization of Rock' between the mid 60's and early 70's. The main composer, leader of the band, and drummer is Sergio "Tilo" González, and the lyricist and singer is Francisco "Pancho" Sazo. Both are founder members alongside Tilo's brothers and ex members (Fernando and Patricio), and Fernando Hurtado. The band currently includes Tilo Gonzalez, Pancho Sazo, and Raul Aliaga (percussion), Sebastián Almarza (piano), Federico Faure (bass), Jaime Atenas (sax), and Hugo Pirovic (flautes). Tilo's son, Simón González, is a recurring guest member as guitarist. They have made extensive touring for North America, Europe and Latin America. (en)
- Congreso es una agrupación musical chilena de estilo fusión latinoamericana fundada en Quilpué en 1969, y liderada por Sergio "Tilo" González. En sus 50 años de trayectoria cuentan con 17 álbumes de estudio y 4 álbumes en vivo, incluido un DVD. Comenzaron su carrera a fines de los años 1960 ligados al movimiento musical de la Nueva canción chilena, sin embargo con la llegada de la dictadura militar y las restricciones culturales de la época, sumado a la gran vocación instrumental de sus integrantes, evolucionaron hacia el rock progresivo, y luego hacia un sonido de fusión que incorporaba además elementos del jazz fusión, de la música contemporánea, del pop, y de la música étnica, sonido denominado por ellos como la Nueva música latinoamericana, y así transformándose en un pilar fundamental de la música popular chilena. Se han ganado el reconocimiento nacional e internacional tanto del público como crítica especializada, por sus refinadas composiciones musicales, como también por sus letras de fuerte contenido social. Conformó en su primera etapa, junto con Los Jaivas y Los Blops, en una de las bandas esenciales en el nuevo sonido progresivo chileno y la Chilenización del Rock. (es)

Après presque 50 ans de carrière, ils comptent 17 albums studio, 4 albums live, et un DVD. Ils commencent leur carrière à la fin des années 1960 dans le mouvement musical de la Nueva Canción Chilena, cependant avec l'arrivée de la dictature militaire et les restrictions culturelles de l'époque, ajoutées à la grande vocation instrumentale de ses membres, ils évoluent vers le rock progressif, puis vers la fusion. Ils gagnent reconnaissance nationale et internationale du public et des critiques spécialisés, pour leurs compositions musicales raffinées, aussi bien que pour leurs textes traitant d'un contenu social fort.
