- Cidadania (English: Citizenship) is a Brazilian political party. It was originally founded as the Popular Socialist Party (Portuguese: Partido Popular Socialista, PPS) by members of the former Brazilian Communist Party (PCB), as a centre-left social democratic and democratic socialist party. Despite its left-wing aligment, PPS moved to be opposition against the Workers' Party since 2004, forming alliances with center-right parties, in particular the Brazilian Social Democracy Party (PSDB), and supporting the Impeachment of Dilma Rousseff. Later the party's National Convention adopted the new naming in March 2019, and it was later approved by the Superior Electoral Court that September. The party then began moving towards a more social liberal positions akin to the third way. (en)
- Ciudadanía (en portugués, Cidadania), anteriormente llamado Partido Popular Socialista (PPS) es un partido político brasileño, heredero directo del Partido Comunista Brasileño (PCB). Tras la caída de la Unión Soviética, el líder comunista, Roberto Freire decide disolver el PCB y crear como heredero poscomunista el PPS. El PPS formó parte de la coalición gobernante dirigida por Lula da Silva a partir del 2002. La dirección nacional del partido decidió salir de ella en el 2004, al ser contraria de las políticas hechas hasta el momento por el presidente. Algunos importantes miembros del partido, como Ciro Gomes, candidato a la presidencia en 1998 y 2002 no aceptan abandonar el ejecutivo y son expulsados del partido. En las elecciones del 2006 el PPS apoya de forma informal a Geraldo Alckmin, rival de Lula en la segunda vuelta de dichas elecciones. En esas misma elecciones no consiguió superar el 5% de los votos en la elección de diputados y de ese modo, no superó la cláusula de barrera. Para poder hacerlo formó junto con otras formaciones un nuevo partido, Movilización Democrática. Sin embargo, al declarar el Tribunal Supremo inconstitucional esta norma, el PPS vuelve a convertirse en un partido independiente. (es)
- Citoyenneté (en portugais : Cidadania, abrégé en CID) est un parti politique brésilien fondé en 1992 comme Parti populaire socialiste lors de la transformation du Parti communiste brésilien à la suite de l'effondrement de l'Union soviétique. Aux élections générales de 2002, le PPS obtient 3,1 % des voix, 15 sièges de députés et un sénateur. Il entre alors dans la coalition de Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva jusqu'en décembre 2004. En 2006, le PPS soutient la candidature présidentielle du social-démocrate Geraldo Alckmin et obtient, lors des élections générales, 3,9 % des voix, 21 sièges de députés et un sénateur. À la suite de ces élections, le PPS tente de constituer un nouveau parti, dénommé Mobilisation démocratique, en fusionnant avec le Parti de la mobilisation nationale et le Parti humaniste de solidarité mais la procédure est rejetée par le Tribunal suprême fédéral et les partis impliqués reprennent leur existence. En 2010, le PPS maintient son soutien à la coalition de centre droit qui présente José Serra comme candidat présidentiel. Lors des élections parlementaires, le PPS s'effondre à la chambre des députés, passant de 22 sièges à 12, mais en revanche il retrouve un mandat de sénateur. À la suite de l'élection de Jair Bolsonaro, le parti change son nom en Cidadania (Citoyenneté), en abandonnant la social démocratie pour le social-libéralisme. (fr)

- O Cidadania é um partido político brasileiro de alinhamento entre a centro-direita e a centro-esquerda. Foi fundado e registrado em 1992 com o nome Partido Popular Socialista (PPS), sendo uma iniciativa de parte dos membros do antigo Partido Comunista Brasileiro (PCB). Em março de 2019, alterou o nome para Cidadania, oficializado pelo TSE em setembro. Em novembro de 2022 o partido possuía 444.490 filiados, tendo mais membros nos estados de São Paulo, de Minas Gerais e do Paraná. Durante sua história, o partido deu apoio aos presidentes Itamar Franco, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (no início) e Michel Temer. Fez oposição aos presidentes Fernando Collor, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Lula e Dilma Rousseff. Atualmente setores do partido apoiam os governos estaduais do Acre, de Alagoas, do Ceará, do Espírito Santo, de Goiás, do Maranhão, da Paraíba, do Paraná, do Rio de Janeiro, do Rio Grande do Sul e de Roraima além de já terem sido apoiadores dos atuais governos de Minas Gerais e de Santa Catarina. Mesmo tendo alinhamento (em votações na câmara dos deputados até abril de 2021) de 83% com o governo do presidente Jair Bolsonaro, em fevereiro de 2021 o Diretório Nacional aprovou um indicativo de impeachment do mesmo.
