- Bicocca is a district ("quartiere") of Milan, Italy, part of the Zone 9 administrative division. It was incorporated in the city in 1841. The main historic landmark of the district is the 15th century . In the last decades of the 20th century, the district has been subject to a major requalification project that led to the construction of important facilities such as the University of Milan Bicocca seats and the Teatro degli Arcimboldi theatre. Ce quartier formait une municipalité autonome jusqu'en 1841, année où il a été regroupé avec la municipalité de Niguarda qui fut finalement annexé à Milan en 1923. La Bicocca avait déjà été annexée à la ville par Napoléon en 1808, mais s'est scindée en 1816 avec le retour des Autrichiens. La Bicocca est connue pour la petite villa des Arcimboldi, pour l'université du même nom et pour la bataille de la Bicocca de 1522, dont une représentation se trouve à l'intérieur de la chapelle de Sant'Antonino di Segnano. È nota per il villino chiamato Bicocca degli Arcimboldi, per l'omonima università e per la battaglia della Bicocca del 1522 di cui si può ammirare una raffigurazione all'interno della Cappella di Sant'Antonino di Segnano.
