- Bible svatého Ludvíka (francouzsky La Bible de Saint Louis) je bohatě iluminovaný rukopis vyrobený ve Francii během let 1226–1234. Zdá se, že byl vyroben na zakázku ovdovělé francouzské královny Blanky Kastilské, která je také na jednom z listů společně se svým synem Ludvíkem zobrazena. Z majetku Ludvíka se rukopis dostal do držení kastilského krále Alfonse X. a poprvé je zmíněn v jeho závěti roku 1282. Rukopis se skládá ze tří dílů, z nichž dva jsou nyní v majetku katedrály v Toledu a třetí v v New Yorku. (cs)
- The Bible of St Louis, also called the Rich Bible of Toledo or simply the Toledo Bible, is a Bible moralisée in three volumes, made between 1226 and 1234 for King Louis IX of France (b. 1214) at the request of his mother Blanche of Castile. It is an illuminated manuscript that contains selections of the text of the Bible, along with a commentary and illustrations. Each page pairs Old and New Testament episodes with illustrations explaining their moral significance in terms of typology. Every excerpt of the Bible is illustrated with two miniatures. The first shows a representation of the text fragment as such, the second shows a theological or an allegorical scene explaining the text fragment in the light of the teachings of the Church. The miniatures are accompanied by the Bible text and by a short comment on the typological relationship between the two images. Like other similar works, the book does not contain the full text of the Bible and is, despite its name, actually not a real Bible. The work would have served for the training of the young king. The manuscript has been kept for the past eight centuries in the Cathedral of Toledo, except for a fragment of eight leaves which is now in the Morgan Library & Museum in New York as MS M240. (en)

La mayor parte del códice se conserva en la Catedral de Toledo, mientras que ocho folios, separados alrededor del año 1400, están en la Morgan Library & Museum de Nueva York. Es un manuscrito iluminado que contiene extractos del texto bíblico, junto con un comentario e ilustraciones. Cada página empareja episodios del Antiguo y el Nuevo Testamento con ilustraciones que explican su significado moral en términos de tipología. Cada pasaje de la Biblia está ilustrado con dos miniaturas. La primera muestra una representación del fragmento de texto como tal, la segunda muestra una escena teológica o alegórica explicando el fragmento de texto a la luz de las enseñanzas de la Iglesia. Las miniaturas están acompañadas por el texto de la Biblia y un breve comentario de la relación tipológica entre las dos imágenes. - La Bible moralisée dite de Tolède appelée aussi Bible de saint Louis, ou Bible « Riche » de Tolède (Biblia Rica) est une bible moralisée en trois volumes, qui aurait été réalisée entre 1226 et 1234 pour le roi Louis IX de France, à la demande de sa mère Blanche de Castille. Il s’agit d’un manuscrit enluminé qui contient une sélection de textes provenant de la Bible. Chaque fragment de texte est illustré au moyen de deux miniatures. La première propose une représentation du fragment de texte en tant que tel, la seconde montre une représentation théologique ou allégorique « moralisant » le fragment de texte à la lumière des enseignements de l'Église. Les miniatures sont accompagnées du texte biblique et d’un bref commentaire sur la relation typologique existant entre les deux images. Le livre ne contient pas le texte intégral de la Bible et n’est pas, en fait, en dépit de son nom, une véritable Bible. L’ouvrage aurait servi à la formation du jeune roi. Il est conservé depuis maintenant huit siècles dans la cathédrale Sainte-Marie de Tolède. - De Bijbel van de Heilige Lodewijk ook de Rijke Bijbel van Toledo genoemd, is een Bible moralisée in drie volumes die tussen 1226 en 1234 gemaakt werd voor Lodewijk IX van Frankrijk in opdracht van zijn moeder Blanche van Castilië. Het is een verlucht handschrift waarin tekstfragmenten uit de Bijbel geïllustreerd worden aan de hand van telkens twee miniaturen. De eerste miniatuur geeft een voorstelling van het tekstfragment als dusdanig, de tweede toont theologische of allegorische taferelen die het tekstfragment ‘moraliseren’, verklaren in het licht van de leer van de kerk. De miniaturen zijn vergezeld van een korte tekst die het typologische verband tussen de beide beelden becommentarieert. Het boek bevat niet de volledige tekst van de Bijbel en is dus, ondanks zijn naam, eigenlijk geen echte Bijbel. Het werk zou gediend hebben voor de opleiding van de jonge koning. Het wordt sedert meer dan acht eeuwen bewaard in de Catedral Primada de Toledo. Een fragment ervan, met signatuur M240, bevindt zich in de Pierpont Morgan Library in New York (nl)

Cada página combina episódios do Antigo e do Novo Testamento com ilustrações explicando seu significado moral em termos de tipologia. Todo trecho da Bíblia é ilustrado com duas miniaturas. O primeiro mostra uma representação do fragmento de texto como tal, o segundo mostra uma cena teológica ou alegórica, explicando o fragmento de texto à luz dos ensinamentos da Igreja. As miniaturas são acompanhadas pelo texto bíblico e por um breve comentário sobre a relação tipológica entre as duas imagens. Como outros trabalhos semelhantes, o livro não contém o texto completo da Bíblia e, apesar do nome, na verdade não é uma Bíblia real. O trabalho teria servido para o treinamento do jovem rei.
