- The Balassi Institute (Hungarian: Balassi Intézet) is a worldwide non-profit cultural organization funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Külügyminisztérium) of Hungary. The institute spreads and promotes Hungarian language and culture abroad, and plays a key role in developing and attaining Hungary's objectives in the area of cultural diplomacy. As an organizational hub, it coordinates and directs all activities provided by Hungarian institutes abroad.It is named after the Hungarian Renaissance lyric poet Bálint Balassi. (en)
- Das Balassi-Institut (ung. Balassi-Intézet) ist ein ungarisches Kulturinstitut, das sich der Förderung der ungarischen Sprache und Kultur widmet. Namensgeber für das Institut war der ungarische Dichter Bálint Balassa (1554–1594), der als Schöpfer des ungarischen Liebeslyrik gilt. Das Balassi-Institut hat ihren Hauptsitz in Budapest. Hauptaufgaben des Instituts sind die Unterstützung ungarischer Sprecher im Ausland, beispielsweise der ungarischen Minderheiten in den umliegenden Ländern. Das Institut bietet Fortbildungen für Ungarischlehrer an und stellt Lehrmaterialien zur Verfügung. Darüber hinaus nimmt das Institut die staatlich anerkannte Ungarisch-Sprachprüfungen ab. Zur Förderung des Ungarischen im Inland vergibt das Institut Stipendien für Ungarisch-Sprachkurse. Das Institut fördert die Hungarologie (Ungarn-Forschung) im Ausland, indem es die meist an Universitäten bestehenden ungarischen Zentren vernetzt. Das Institut veröffentlicht in eigenen Publikationsorganen und unterhält eine eigene Bibliothek. Darüber hinaus unterstützt es den Aufbau ungarnbezogener Bibliotheken im Ausland. - L'Institut Balassi (en hongrois : Balassi Intézet, en anglais : Balassi Institute, en allemand : Balassi Institut, en russe : Институт Балашши) est une organisation hongroise, dont l'objectif est de promouvoir la langue et la culture hongroises à l'étranger. Son siège est à Budapest. L'organisation actuelle est le fruit de la fusion de différents organismes culturels et universitaires chargés de la promotion de la culture hongroise dans le but de doter la Hongrie de l'équivalent de l'Institut Goethe allemand. L'Institut Balassi est ainsi le fer de lance de la diplomatie culturelle hongroise dans les pays limitrophes, où vivent d'importantes communautés de Magyars d'outre-frontières ou dans le monde entier, notamment dans les pays d'implantation de la diaspora hongroise. L'Institut Balassi est la tête de pont d'un réseau de 23 instituts culturels et deux succursales à l'étranger. Cette couverture permet l'organisation d’événements et de festivals autour de la culture hongroise, de structurer l'offre en matière d'apprentissage du hongrois, mais aussi d'organiser les financements d'initiatives associatives ou d'appuyer les programmes de recherche autour de la culture hongroise.
