- المُستَوى النَّجمِيُّ أو الحقل النجمي أو العالم النجمي (بالإنجليزية: The astral plane or the astral realm or the astral world) هو مستوى وجود تفترضه الفلسفات الكلاسيكية، وفلسفة العصور الوسطى، والفلسفتان الشرقية، والباطنية وبالإضافة إلى الأديان السرية. إنه عالم المجالات السماوية، التي تعبرها الروح في جسدها النجمي في طريقها إلى الولادة وحياة ما بعد الموت، ويُعتقد عمومًا أنها مأهولة بالملائكة أو الأرواح أو غيرهم من الكائنات غير المادية. في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر وأوائل القرن العشرين، شاع المصطلح من طريق الثيوصوفية وجماعة الصليب الوردي الجدد. - The astral plane, also called the astral realm or the astral world, is a plane of existence postulated by classical, medieval, oriental, and esoteric philosophies and mystery religions. It is the world of the celestial spheres, crossed by the soul in its astral body on the way to being born and after death, and is generally believed to be populated by angels, spirits or other immaterial beings. In the late 19th and early 20th century the term was popularised by Theosophy and neo-Rosicrucianism. Another view holds that the astral plane or world, rather than being some kind of boundary area crossed by the soul, is the entirety of spirit existence or spirit worlds to which those who die on Earth go, and where they live out their non-physical lives. It is understood that all consciousness resides in the astral plane. Some writers conflate this realm with heaven or paradise or union with God itself, and others do not. Paramahansa Yogananda wrote in Autobiography of a Yogi, "The astral universe . . . is hundreds of times larger than the material universe . . .[with] many astral planets, teeming with astral beings." (p.416) When Alice Bailey writes of seeing "Masters . . . upon the inner spiritual planes [who]. . . work with Christ and the planetary hierarchy," she refers to a vision she had of the unseen astral realm that these and countless other beings inhabit. Christ being in that realm, it is hard to construe it as a non-heaven. The Barzakh, olam mithal or intermediate world in Islam is a related concept. In Judaism, it is known as the "World of Yetzirah", according to Lurianic Kabbalah. (en)

En el hinduismo el concepto de plano astral estaría relacionado con los reinos no materiales del Triloka; mientras que en el budismo estaría igualmente relacionado con el concepto de bardo, o con el de los reinos samsáricos no materiales. - Le plan astral serait l'un des 7 plans introduits par la Société théosophique de Helena Blavatsky selon laquelle le premier de cette hiérarchie serait le plan physique. Le voyage astral permettrait à l'âme de se déplacer de l'un de ces plans vers un autre. La Société théosophique, en prétendant synthétiser plusieurs théories religieuses sur l'invisible, dont certaines du bouddhisme tibétain, aurait identifié ces 7 plans. Le nombre 7 rappelle les sept chakras, les sept plans, les sept vertus, sept sortes d'anges que l'on trouve aussi dans les théories de cette société. - Het astrale vlak, door Éliphas Lévi ook astraal licht genoemd, is een term uit de esoterie en het occultisme die meer dan één betekenis heeft en niet precies te definiëren valt. In essentie is het verbeelding. Als deel van de geest ligt het buiten het Zelf, de persoonlijkheid, terwijl het wel in contact blijft met alle delen van de geest. 'Reizigers naar het astrale' vatten het op als het verlaten en het opgeven van het fysieke, waarna het 'innerlijk landschap' werkelijkheid wordt. De gewone vorm van astrale werkzaamheid is de dagdroom, waarbij gedachten gezien worden als beelden. Bij verder 'reizen' in het astrale, en dus door verruiming van het innerlijk bewustzijn, is er minder controle en gaan symbolen een eigen leven leiden. Van buitenaf lijkt het astrale vlak een staat van bewustzijn, maar beschrijvingen ervan hebben het eerder over een reis. Zo beschreef Dante Alighieri in de 14e eeuw zijn eigen denkbeeldige reis door de astrale sferen van het paradijs in De goddelijke komedie. Vooral in de laat-19e-eeuwse Franse en Engelse occulte literatuur vindt men technieken ("paden" zoals trance, kabbala en tarot) om toegang te krijgen tot het het astrale. Deze oefeningen doen vooral een beroep op het vermogen tot visualiseren. 'Spontane' toegangen tot het astrale vlak worden gerapporteerd bij visioenen en uittredingen. Het astrale vlak werd al gepostuleerd door klassieke (met name neoplatonische), middeleeuwse, oosterse en esoterische filosofieën en mysteriereligies. Het is de wereld van de planetaire sferen, die de ziel doorkruist in zijn astrale lichaam op weg naar de geboorte en na de dood, een wereld waarvan in het algemeen gezegd wordt dat hij bevolkt wordt door engelen, geesten of andere immateriële wezens.
