| - Alfonso "Poncho" Herrera Rodríguez (born Alfonso Herrera Rodríguez on August 28 1983) is a Mexican actor and singer known primarily for performances in Mexican telenovelas. He is also a member of the music group RBD.
As a kid, Alfonso, or Poncho as his friends call him, dreamed of becoming a pilot and wanted to move to San Antonio, Texas to enroll in an aviation school. He had also shown an interest in acting at an early age, and therefore he enrolled in the Centro de Educación Artística run by Latin American media giant Televisa. Following this training, he worked professionally in theater, including performances in Las Brujas de Salem (2001), Como matar a un ruiseñor (2001) and Antigona (2001). In 2002, he was cast in the film Amar te duele, directed by Fernando Sariñana, and from there moved into television, working in the telenovelas Clase 406 and Rebelde.
Alfonso is a member of the band RBD, formed by actors from the telenovela Rebelde. Alfonso and his group member, Dulce María, had an on-again off-again relationship from 2002 to 2005 but they are now good friends. Also, he and Anahi, member of group has secret retionship, 2006/07, which confirmed Pedro Damian in one show.Alfonso, Maite Perroni, Dulce María, Anahí, Christopher Uckermann and Christian Chávez now are traveling with the 'Celestial' tour in countries like Brazil, Japan, Rumania, Spain and the USA.
Alfonso is viewed as the older brother of the group, even though it's Christian who is the eldest male. He shares similar traits as Maite's; he's constantly showing his affection not only to the girls of the group, but to the guys as well. He, just like the rest of his group members, sees Christian, Anahi, Maite, Dulce, and Christopher as his siblings.
On July 13, 2006, Alfonso won the Esta Buenismo and El De Mejor Estilo awards during the Premios Juventud award show which aired on Univision. He also won awards at that show with his group RBD. Alfonso graduated from El Colegio Britanico (The Edron Academy) in the year 2002.
