- دوري النخبة العراقي 2000–01 هي الموسم السابع والعشرون من الدوري العراقي الممتاز منذ تأسيسه عام 1974. تم تسمية الدوري هذا الموسم باسم دوري النخبة حيث جرت تصفيات لأندية كل محافظة. في الجولة التأهيلية الأولى يصعد نادي واحد من كل محافظة، وفي الجولة التأهيلية الثانية توزع الأندية حسب المناطق الجغرافية وتصعد تسعة أندية من المحافظات. وأما أندية بغداد فقسمت إلى مجموعتين تصعد أول ثلاثة أندية من كل مجموعة لدوري النخبة ويلعب رابع كل مجموعة مع بعضهما ذهاب وإياب والفائز يلعب بدوري النخبة. بلغ مجموع الأندية المشاركة في التصفيات 135 نادي سيشارك 16 منها بدوري النخبة. في نهاية الموسم توج نادي الزوراء بطلا للدوري للمرة العاشرة في تاريخه. - The 2000–01 Iraqi Elite League was the 27th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. The name of the league was changed from Iraqi First Division to Iraqi Elite League. Instead of relegating teams from the 1999–2000 season and promoting teams from the lower division in order to decide which teams were playing in the competition, the Iraq Football Association decided that every eligible team in the country from every division should play qualifying games in order to decide who participated. The qualifying rounds saw a total of 135 teams being split into regional groups, all competing for the 16 places in the league. After all the qualifiers were over in December, the league competition itself was held with each team playing 30 matches. In the end, Al-Zawraa won their third league title in a row, finishing eight points clear at the top. (en)
- La saison 2000-2001 du Championnat d'Irak de football est la vingt-septième édition de la première division en Irak, l' Iraqi Premier League. La compétition se déroule sous la forme d'une poule unique où les seize meilleurs clubs du pays s'affrontent deux fois au cours de la saison, à domicile et à l'extérieur. En fin de saison, les deux derniers du classement sont relégués et remplacés par les six meilleurs clubs de deuxième division. C'est le club d'Al-Zawra'a SC, double tenant du titre, qui remporte à nouveau le championnat cette saison après avoir terminé en tête du classement final, avec huit points d'avance sur Al Qowa Al Jawia Bagdad et dix sur un duo composé d'Al Shorta Bagdad et de Talaba SC. C'est le dixième titre de champion d'Irak de l'histoire du club. (fr)
