1965 Records is a record label, based in London. The label gives off the aura of an independent company in the tradition of acclaimed labels such as Factory Records; in fact, the label was founded by SonyBMG to cash in on the Arctic Monkeys-inspired indie renaissance that began in 2006. The label is run by James Endeacott (formerly of Rough Trade Records), who first signed The Libertines and The Strokes.
