An internal passport or a domestic passport is an identity document. Uses for internal passports have included restricting citizens of a subdivided state to employment in their own area (preventing their migration to richer cities or regions), clearly recording the ethnicity of citizens to enforce segregation or prevent passing, and controlling access to sensitive sites or closed cities.

Los pasaportes internos fueron empleados por el Imperio ruso, la Unión Soviética y sus estados sucesores, Francia, los Estados Confederados de América, el Imperio otomano, Sudáfrica durante el Apartheid y otros países. Entre los países que todavía tienen pasaportes internos figuran China, Irak, Rusia y Ucrania (hasta 2016). Inrikespass har varit vanliga i många europeiska länder, men avskaffades gradvis från sent 1700-tal. I Ryska imperiet behölls inrikespassen fram tills revolutionen år 1917, för att sedan återinföras under Stalin år 1932.
