Batang Gadis is a national park covering 1,080 km2 in North Sumatra province, Indonesia extending between 300 and 2,145 metres altitude. It is named after the Batang Gadis river that flows thorough the park. Signs of the endangered Sumatran tiger and the threatened Asian golden cat, leopard cat and clouded leopard were seen in the park. The protection of Batang Gadis as a national park is part of a plan to create the Northern Sumatra biodiversity conservation corridor, which would be connected, via a series of protected areas and forests, to Gunung Leuser National Park in the north of the island.

  • Taman Nasional Batang Gadis (disingkat TNBG) adalah sebuah taman nasional yang terletak di Kabupaten Mandailing Natal, Sumatra Utara. Awalnya, Taman Nasional Batang Gadis menempati lahan seluas 108.00 hektare. Luasnya dikurangi menjadi 72.150 hektare melalui Surat Keputusan Kementerian Kehutanan No. 121 tahun 2012. Lahan yang dikeluarkan dalam wilayahnya digunakan sebagai hutan lindung (15.700 ha) dan hutan produksi terbatas (20.462 ha). Penetapan Taman Nasional Batang Gadis sebagai taman nasional berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri Kehutanan No. 126/Kpts-II/2004, tertanggal 29 April 2004. Habitat di dalam taman nasional ini menempati ekosistem yang beragam mulai dari hutan rawa dataran tinggi, lahan basah, lembah sungai, hutan gamping, hutan dataran rendah perbukitan hingga hutan pegunungan.
