Zeno Vendler (1921 – 2004) was a Hungarian-born philosopher. He was born and brought up in Hungary in 1921. He studied there until he began to train as a Jesuit priest in Maastricht. He received a doctorate from Harvard University in 1959, with a dissertation titled "Facts and Laws". He settled at the University of Calgary from 1965, after some other teaching positions.
