- La Federación de Estudiantes de la Universidad de Chile (acrónimo: Fech) es la organización que aglutina a todos los estudiantes matriculados en carreras de pregrado y posgrado de la Universidad de Chile. En la Fech están federados los centros de estudiantes de las diferentes carreras de pregrado. A nivel nacional, se encuentra adscrita a la Confederación de Estudiantes de Chile (Confech). Fue fundada en 1906, con lo que se convierte en una de las primeras organizaciones estudiantiles de su tipo en el continente. A lo largo de su existencia ha sido un actor más o menos relevante en la historia política y social de Chile, destacando su participación en el derrocamiento de la dictadura de Carlos Ibáñez del Campo, el proceso de reforma universitaria iniciado en la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso hacia 1967, las manifestaciones de oposición a la dictadura militar liderada por Augusto Pinochet y las diversas movilizaciones estudiantiles ocurridas desde el retorno a la democracia en 1990. FECh]) is an organization that represents all the students enrolled in undergraduate and post-graduate courses at the University of Chile. The student organizations of the different undergraduate schools are also federated within the FECh. Camila Vallejo Dowling, a graduate student in geography from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Chile, assumed the post president of FECh in November 2010. She was defeated in her bid for re-election on 7 December 2011 by Gabriel Boric, a Law graduate. The president for the 2013 period was Andrés Fielbaum. The position after that held by , a medical student, who is a member of the Frente de Estudiantes Libertarios (Libertarian Student Front) - an anarchist organisation. (en)
