- Die Philosophie der Freiheit – Grundzüge einer modernen Weltanschauung ist ein 1893 publiziertes philosophisches Werk Rudolf Steiners, des späteren Begründers der Anthroposophie. Das Buch besteht aus zwei Hauptteilen, mit jeweils sieben Kapiteln. Der erste Hauptteil beschäftigt sich mit den Voraussetzungen, unter denen der Mensch in seinem Denken und Handeln als geistig freies Wesen bezeichnet werden könne. Der zweite Hauptteil behandelt die Freiheit und ihr Verhältnis zu ethischem Handeln. Die erste Auflage fand nur wenig Beachtung und wurde in der Fachwelt teils scharf zurückgewiesen. Eine zweite, überarbeitete Fassung erschien 1918 im eigenen anthroposophischen Verlag und wurde seither vielfach erneut aufgelegt. (de)
- La filosofía de libertad 1894 es un libro que constituye el trabajo filosófico y fundamental de Rudolf Steiner. Es obvio que no puede ser libre una persona que no sabe por qué actúa ni como... pero ¿qué diremos de los actos cuya motivación conoce? Con este planteamiento, Rudolf Steiner subordina la cuestión del libre albedrío a un problema cognitivo previo a la acción. El libro se estructura en dos partes: La ciencia de la libertad y La realidad de la libertad. En la primera, Steiner expone su epistemología y en la segunda analiza las distintas motivaciones que llevan a una acción, concluyendo que el hombre no es de primeras ni un ser libre ni un ser contingente sino que está en todo momento en camino hacia la libertad y en la posibilidad de ella. - The Philosophy of Freedom is the fundamental philosophical work of philosopher, Goethe scholar and esotericist Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925). It addresses the question of whether and in what sense human beings are free. Originally published in 1894 in German as Die Philosophie der Freiheit, with a second edition published in 1918, the work has appeared under a number of , including The Philosophy of Spiritual Activity (the title Steiner proposed for the English-language translation), The Philosophy of Freedom, and Intuitive Thinking as a Spiritual Path. Part One of The Philosophy of Freedom examines the basis of freedom in human thinking, gives an account of the relationship between knowledge and perception, and explores the role and reliability of thinking in the formation of knowledge. In Part Two Steiner analyzes the conditions necessary for human beings to be free, and develops a moral philosophy that he labels as "ethical individualism". The book's subtitle, Some results of introspective observation following the methods of natural science, indicates the philosophical approach Steiner intends to take. (en)

Jej głównym tematem jest zagadnienie wolnej woli, rozważania nad którym Steiner rozpoczyna od jego podziału na wolność myśli i wolność działania. Stoi na stanowisku, że wolność wewnętrzna jest osiągalna jeśli pogodzimy ze sobą postrzeganie, które odbija zewnętrzny wygląd świata, z poznaniem, dzięki któremu uzyskujemy dostęp do jego wewnętrznej struktury; wolność w świecie zewnętrznym rodzi się wtedy, gdy udaje się pokonać rozdźwięk między naszymi ideałami a ograniczeniami stawianymi nam przez zewnętrzną rzeczywistość dzięki pozwoleniu, by nasze czyny były inspirowane tym, co nazywa fantazją moralną. Steiner uważa, że wewnętrzna i zewnętrzna wolność uzupełniają się wzajemnie, i że prawdziwa wolność jest osiągalna tylko jeśli obie są ze sobą zintegrowane. (pl)
