- The Drowsy Chaperone oder Hochzeit mit Hindernissen ist ein Musical mit dem Buch von Bob Martin und Don McKellar und der Musik von Lisa Lambert und Greg Morrison. Es ist eine Parodie der amerikanischen Musical-Komödien der 1920er Jahre. In ihm geht es um einen alternden Musicalliebhaber. Als er sein Lieblingsmusical auf einer Doppel-LP anhört, erwacht das Musical in seiner kleinen Einzimmerwohnung zum Leben. Das Musical debütierte 1998 an der Rivoli in Toronto und wurde am 1. Mai 2006 am Broadway erstaufgeführt. Die Show gewann im selben Jahr den Tony Award für das beste Buch und die beste Musik, dazu drei weitere. Die deutschsprachige Erstaufführung fand am 27. April 2013 am Theater Hof statt (Regie: Reinhardt Friese, Übersetzung: Roman Hinze). Dieselbe Übersetzung führt das Theater Bielefeld am 4. September 2016 auf (Regie: Thomas Winter). (de)

- The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, and a book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar. The story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theater fan who, feeling "blue", decides to play for the audience an LP of his favorite musical, the fictional 1928 show The Drowsy Chaperone. As the record plays, the show - a parody of 1920s American musical comedy - comes to life onstage, as the man wryly comments on the music, story and actors. The Drowsy Chaperone debuted in 1998 at The Rivoli in Toronto, and, after a 2005 run in Los Angeles, opened on Broadway on May 1, 2006. The show was nominated for multiple Broadway and West End theatre awards, winning five Tony Awards and seven Drama Desk Awards. The show has had major productions in Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, London, Melbourne and Japan, as well as two North American tours as well as Batemans Bay in south eastern Australia. (en)
- 『ドロウジー・シャペロン』(The Drowsy Chaperone)は、ブロードウェイのミュージカル舞台。2006年5月1日にニューヨークので開幕し、2007年12月31日に閉幕した。その後、全米中でツアー上演され、イギリス・ロンドンのウエスト・エンドでの公演も行われた。これからは、オーストラリアと最初の翻訳公演となる日本（2009年1月）での上演が予定されている。 現代のマンハッタンのアパートの一室に暮らすミュージカルおたくの"椅子の男"が、1928年に上演されレコードが擦り切れるほど聞いて愛し空想したミュージカル「ドロウジー・シャペロン」の世界を観客に解説していく。"椅子の男"は謂わば狂言回し的に登場し、彼の部屋ではミュージカル「ドロウジー・シャペロン」の物語が繰り広げられていくという構成になっている。「ドロウジー・シャペロン」は、ブロードウェイの新進の歌姫の突然の結婚・引退を巡る騒動を描いた物語となっている。当時の古き良きミュージカルや現代ミュージカルを風刺しつつ、ミュージカルへの愛情に溢れた作品となっている。 第60回トニー賞ではミュージカル部門の助演女優賞や楽曲賞、脚本賞など5部門を受賞した。 (ja)

No Brasil esteve em cartaz em São Paulo por onze meses, com apresentações de quarta a domingo, no Teatro Popular do SESI, sob direção de Miguel Falabella e com todos os ingressos distribuídos gratuitamente.
