- Die Schweizerische Nationalphonothek (italienisch Fonoteca nazionale svizzera, französisch Phonotèque nationale suisse, rätoromanisch Fonoteca naziunale svizra) ist das Tonarchiv der Schweiz mit Sitz in Lugano. Ihr Auftrag besteht darin, Tonträger zu sammeln, die einen Bezug zur Geschichte und Kultur der Schweiz haben, sie zu erschliessen und für die Benutzung bereitzustellen. Sie erfüllt damit bezüglich Audioaufnahmen eine ähnliche Funktion wie die Schweizerische Nationalbibliothek im Bereich des Schrifttums. Die Nationalphonothek ist seit 2016 organisatorisch Teil der Schweizerischen Nationalbibliothek. Die Sammlung verfügt über mehr als 500‘000 Tonträger; jährlich kommen 20–25'000 Tondokumente dazu (Stand 2018). Die Institution ist Mitglied in der Internationalen Vereinigung der Schall- und audiovisuellen Archive (IASA) und der Audio Engineering Society (AES). Des Weiteren ist die Schweizerische Nationalphonothek Mitglied der Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) und der International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML). - The Swiss National Sound Archives are the of Switzerland, based in Lugano. Its mission is to collect sound recordings related to the history and culture of Switzerland, to make them accessible and to make them available for use. In terms of audio recordings, it thus fulfils a similar function to the Swiss National Library in the field of literature. Since 2016, the National Sound Archives have been an organisational part of the Swiss National Library. The collection has more than 500,000 audio carriers and 20-25,000 audio documents are added each year (as of 2018). The institution is a member of the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) and the Audio Engineering Society (AES). The Swiss National Sound Archives is also a member of the Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) and the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML). L'istituzione è stata creata nel 1987 e ha sede a Lugano in Cantone Ticino. La collezione della fonoteca include documenti audio su più di 500'000 supporti sonori (che aumentano in media di 20-25'000 documenti all'anno) tra i quali produzione dell'industria discografica svizzera, registrazioni radiofoniche, della ricerca scientifica e lasciti di compositori, interpreti e collezionisti.
