Stratarches (Greek: στρατάρχης, pl. στρατάρχαι (archaic) or στρατάρχες (modern)), means ruler of the army in Greek, and is a title associated with successful generals. In modern Greek usage, it corresponds to the rank of Field Marshal.

Η στραταρχική ράβδος στην αρχή ήταν απλό κομμάτι ξύλου, αλλά από τον 18ο αιώνα άρχισε να διακοσμείται, ορισμένες φορές ακόμα και με χρυσό και διαμάντια. Μερικές φορές το διακριτικό μπορεί να μην είναι σκυτάλη, όπως συμβαίνει στη Ρωσία μετά το 1991 και προηγουμένως στην πρώην Σοβιετική Ένωση, που χρησιμοποιούσε ένα ασημένιο αστέρι που αναφέρεται ως αστέρι του στρατάρχη.
