- Seditious Meetings Act 1795 (36 Geo.3 c.8) adalah undang-undang yang bertujuan untuk membatasi pertemuan umum untuk lima puluh orang saja. Pertemuan yang dihadiri oleh jumlah yang lebih banyak harus mendapat izin dari magistrat. Bahkan bila pertemuan sesuai dengan hukum, pertemuan tersebut dapat dibubarkan apabila dianggap "menghasut" oleh magistrat. Orang yang mencoba melawan pembubaran paksa dapat dihukum mati. Undang-undang ini disetujui oleh Parlemen Britania pada November 1975 dan merupakan salah satu dari Gagging Acts (undang-undang yang lain adalah Treason Act 1795). Konteks pembuatan undang-undang ini adalah berkecamuknya revolusi di Prancis. Antara tahun 1790 hingga 1800, berlangsung banyak ceramah dan pidato umum yang menginginkan reformasi politik dengan prinsip yang mirip dengan Revolusi Prancis. Undang-undang ini cukup efektif. It was the second of the well known "Two Acts" (also known as the "Gagging Acts" or the "Grenville and Pitt Bills"), the other being the Treason Act 1795. It also required a magistrate's license for lecturing and debating halls where admission was charged and policies discussed. (en)
