* Lorsque le plan de l'image et le plan de l'objectif sont parallèles, le plan de netteté leur est parallèle.

- The Scheimpflug principle is a description of the geometric relationship between the orientation of the plane of focus, the lens plane, and the image plane of an optical system (such as a camera) when the lens plane is not parallel to the image plane. It is applicable to the use of some camera movements on a view camera. It is also the principle used in corneal pachymetry, the mapping of corneal topography, done prior to refractive eye surgery such as LASIK, and used for early detection of keratoconus. The principle is named after Austrian army Captain Theodor Scheimpflug, who used it in devising a systematic method and apparatus for correcting perspective distortion in aerial photographs, although Captain Scheimpflug himself credits Jules Carpentier with the rule, thus making it an example of Stigler's law of eponymy. - La regola o condizione di Scheimpflug afferma che, per un sistema ottico, i piani focali dell'obiettivo, del soggetto e dell’immagine si incontrano su una stessa retta. Come caso limite, quando i tre piani sono tra essi paralleli si incontrano all'infinito. In fotografia tale regola si applica agli apparecchi a corpi mobili e viene definita nella maniera seguente: quando il piano su cui giace il soggetto, il piano nodale posteriore dell'obiettivo e il piano focale si incontrano in un'unica retta, si ottiene la piena messa a fuoco del soggetto indipendentemente dal diaframma utilizzato.Questa regola è alla base del funzionamento e dell'utilizzo degli per la regolazione del piano di messa a fuoco in fotografia. La regola è stata elaborata e prende il proprio nome da Theodor Scheimpflug. (it)

Het is de theorie achter een in de fotografie gebruikte methode om objecten die niet parallel aan het beeldvlak lopen toch scherp weer te geven. Omgekeerd kan onscherpte worden gecreëerd waar die niet verwacht wordt. De methode is vernoemd naar de Oostenrijkse officier en cartograaf . Bij een "normale" camera is alles scherp wat gelegen is in een zeker vlak, parallel aan het beeldvlak en loodrecht op de optische as van het objectief. Door de beperkte scherptediepte is alles onscherp wat niet in dat scherptevlak ligt. Door diafragmeren is de scherptediepte wel te vergroten, maar het vlak van de grootste scherpte blijft altijd parallel aan het beeldvlak. (nl)
- Reguła Scheimpfluga – reguła stosowana w fotografii, gdy fotografowana płaszczyzna znajduje się pod kątem do aparatu fotograficznego (i płaszczyzny naświetlanego właśnie filmu). Zdjęcie będzie ostre na całej powierzchni, o ile na jednej prostej przetną się trzy płaszczyzny: fotografowana, filmu oraz główna płaszczyzna obiektywu, prostopadła do jego osi. Inaczej mówiąc: obiektyw musi być ustawiony nierównolegle do płaszczyzny kliszy, ale i nierównolegle do płaszczyzny fotografowanej. Ubocznym tego skutkiem jest ustawienie obiektywu niewspółosiowo z resztą aparatu. Taki sposób fotografowania możliwy jest przede wszystkim w aparatach wielkoformatowych z racji możliwości wykonywania pokłonów ścianki przedniej mieszka aparatu, jeżeli aparat jest w takowy wyposażony; w małoobrazkowych tylko przy zastosowaniu obiektywów typu "tilt" i aparatach mieszkowych z możliwością zmiany płaszczyzny przedniej ścianki. Dodatkową korzyścią przy takiej korekcji jest prostowanie linii, czyli korekcja perspektywy, co jest przydatne także np. przy fotografowaniu architektury z bliska. Samo prostowanie linii można jednak uzyskać również prostszym sposobem, przesuwając jedynie obiektyw w płaszczyźnie równoległej do filmu (przy założeniu, że obiektyw jest zdolny do rysowania obrazu o przekątnej znacznie większej od rzeczywistego formatu zdjęcia – klatka obrazu nie będzie centralnie w kole obrazu, który daje obiektyw). Musi być jedynie zachowana odpowiednio duża głębia ostrości, co możliwe jest przy fotografowaniu dalszych planów. W fotografii studyjnej trzeba się jednak uciec do reguły Scheimpfluga, ponieważ bardzo bliskie plany charakteryzują się tym, że stosunek odległości od aparatu do najbliższego i najdalszego miejsca motywu na planie bliskim jest znacznie większy niż przy planach dalszych. Korekcję typu Scheimpfluga można spotkać również w rzutnikach, projektorach itp. (pl)
- Scheimpflugs princip är en optisk regel som beskriver i vilken riktning ett objektivs skärpeplan (objektplan) avbildas på bildplanet (fokalplanet), när objektivet inte är parallellt med detsamma. Detta tillämpas regelmässigt i en storformatskamera, eller med s.k. tilt-and-shift-objektiv i systemkameror (särskilt då tilt-funktionen). Principen är uppkallad efter den österrikiske kaptenen , som använde den för perspektivkorrektion vid flygfotografering. Scheimpflug refererade till denna princip i sin brittiska patentansökan år 1904. Själv gjorde han inga anspråk på att ha upptäckt principen, som även är beskriven av Jules Carpentier år 1901 och kan härledas från Gérard Desargues sats, med flera. (sv)
