- Sarah Diane T. Lindsay (* 8. Juni 1980 in Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, Greater London) ist eine ehemalige britische Shorttrackerin. Sie nahm an drei Olympischen Spielen teil, bei Europameisterschaften gewann sie zwei Medaillen. Lindsay gehört seit 1996 zum britischen Nationalteam. Sie startete für den Verein Aldwych Speed Club und wurde von Nicky Gooch trainiert. Ihre erste internationale Meisterschaft bestritt Lindsay bei der in Oberstdorf. Im Mehrkampf erreichte sie Rang 16. Vordere Ränge erreichte sie erstmals bei der in Grenoble. Im Mehrkampf wurde Lindsay Achte, über 500 m erzielte sie mit Rang fünf ihr bestes Ergebnis. Lindsay qualifizierte sich für die Olympischen Spiele in Salt Lake City. Über 500 m wurde sie dort Zehnte, über 1000 m 13. und über 1500 m 24. Vordere Platzierungen blieben in der Folgezeit zunächst aus. In der Saison 2005/06 machte Lindsay dann wieder auf sich aufmerksam. Im Weltcup erreichte sie über 500 m erstmals ein Finale. In Turin startete sie zum zweiten Mal bei den Olympischen Spielen. Über 500 m qualifizierte sie sich für das Halbfinale und wurde Achte. Über 1000 m und 1500 m hingegen schied sie frühzeitig aus. In der Saison 2006/07 gewann Lindsay bei der Europameisterschaft in Sheffield ihre erste Medaille bei einer internationalen Meisterschaft. Über 500 m errang sie Silber, im Mehrkampf wurde sie Fünfte. Im Weltcup erreichte sie in Heerenveen über 500 m das Finale und wurde Zweite, es war Lindsays einziger Podestplatz im Weltcup. Während der Saison verletzte sich Lindsay schwer und fiel fast ein Jahr lang aus. Trotzdem konnte sie bei der Europameisterschaft 2008 in Ventspils mit der Staffel den Europameistertitel gewinnen. In der Saison 2008/09 erreichte Lindsay ihr bestes Ergebnis bei einer Weltmeisterschaft. In Wien wurde sie über 500 m Sechste. In ihrer letzten Saison 2009/10 errang Lindsay bei der Weltmeisterschaft in Sofia Rang sieben über 1000 m und mit ihren Teamkolleginnen bei der Teamweltmeisterschaft in Bormio Rang sechs. Sie nahm in Vancouver an ihren dritten Olympischen Spielen teil. Sie startete über 500 m, wurde jedoch umstritten disqualifiziert. Zweimal stürzte sie zu Rennbeginn zusammen mit Jessica Gregg, nachdem das Rennen einmal neugestartet wurde. Nach dem zweiten Sturz wurde Lindsay jedoch als Verursacherin aus dem Rennen genommen. Britische Medien berichteten kritisch über die Entscheidung der Jury. Nach der Saison beendete Lindsay ihre aktive Karriere. (de)

- Sarah Joanne Lindsay (born 8 June 1980 in Kingston upon Thames, London, England) is a British short track speed skater who has competed at the Winter Olympic Games on three occasions. Lindsay made her debut for the Great Britain team in 1996 and from 2000 was British Ladies Champion for nine consecutive years. She was coached by Nicky Gooch, the winner of the bronze medal in the men's 500 metres event at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. Lindsay first appeared at the Winter Olympics in the 2002 Games held in Salt Lake City, Utah. She competed in the women's 500, 1000 and 1500 metres short track speed skating events. She was eliminated in the heats of the 1500 metres and made the quarterfinals of her other two events, achieving a best finish of tenth in the 500 metres competition. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, Lindsay again competed in the 500, 1000 and 1500 metres. She made the semifinals and finished eighth overall in the 500 metres. In the 1000 metres, she failed to make it past the first round after finishing third in her heat and was also eliminated in the first round of the 1500 metres; her final positions in the standings were sixteenth in the 1000 metres and fifteenth in the 1500 metres. In 2007, she suffered a ruptured spinal disc after crashing into the boards around the ice rink where she had been training. The accident caused her to miss fifteen months of competition. Her third appearance at the Olympics came at the 2010 Games in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Lindsay participated in a single event, the 500 metres. She advanced from her first round heat by finishing second but was disqualified in the quarterfinals after a crash with Canada's Jessica Gregg and finished in sixteenth position overall. In 2010, Lindsay was part of the British women's team at the World Team Championships in Bormio. The team, which also included , Elise Christie and Charlotte Gilmartin, finished fourth in the opening group stage and did not advance in the tournament. Sarah Lindsay now owns and runs a company that provides personal training in London. Lindsay is also an Athlete Ambassador for Right to Play, the world's leading sport for development charity. (en)
