- Rocket Ranger es un videojuego de acción y aventura, creado y desarrollado por en el año 1988. El juego está ambientado en una historia alternativa sobre la Segunda Guerra Mundial donde el nazismo científico está a punto de hacer un descubrimiento sorprendente que les permitirá ganar la guerra. Un cinturón cohete que permite a su portador volar es enviado desde el futuro para permitir que el jugador pueda evitar que los nazis ganen la guerra Mundial. Como muchos juegos de Cinemaware, Rocket Ranger se inspira en Hollywood, y probablemente The Rocketeer comics. - Rocket Ranger is a 1988 action-adventure computer game developed and published by Cinemaware. The game's setting is based in the World War II era, allowing the player to control a US Army scientist and setting out to stop Nazi Germany from winning the war. The Rocket Ranger moniker stems from the Rocket Pack the player uses over the course of the game. Like many Cinemaware games, Rocket Ranger draws its inspiration from Hollywood, and likely The Rocketeer comics. This title pays homage to the many 1950s sci-fi serials, using the look and feel of the serials, including action-packed cut-scenes and an art treatment loyal to the futuristic visions of that era. It also features the cliché elements of that era, including a dashing, courageous hero and a beautiful, voluptuous damsel in distress in need of rescue. (en)

Venne sviluppato da Cinemaware e pubblicato nel 1988 negli Stati Uniti d'America dalla stessa azienda, mentre in Europa è stato commercializzato da Mirrorsoft. Nel 2012 circa venne pubblicato come freeware dalla Cinemaware. Come altri giochi della Cinemaware, Rocket Ranger omaggia il cinema di Hollywood e le molte serie TV di fantascienza degli anni cinquanta, soprattutto , con un modo artistico di rappresentare il "futuro" che è tipico di quei tempi, nonché gli stereotipi come l'eroe coraggioso che deve salvare la bellissima eroina.
