Théâtre à l'italienne comptant initialement 1 200 places, puis agrandi de 100 places lors de sa restauration en 1931, il est doté d'un plafond tout en luminosité et d'une frise circulaire ayant pour thème les arts du théâtre. "It is notable for its opulent symbolic ornamentation on the theme of music and the lyric arts." The building was burnt down during World War I and rebuilt in 1931–1932 with an interior by and .
