- Prè ist ein Wohnviertel der norditalienischen Hafenstadt Genua. Unter administrativem Gesichtspunkt ist Prè eines der antiken Stadtsechstel des historischen Stadtzentrums und gehört heute zum Munizip I – Centro–Est. Der Stadtteil grenzt im Westen an das Viertel , im Süden an und im Norden an San Vincenzo. Die Einwohnerzahl von Prè betrug im Jahr 2010 7895 Personen. Das ehemals durch Prostitution und Schmuggel gekennzeichnete Viertel ist heute vielleicht der bekannteste Bereich des historischen Stadtzentrums von Genua und wird seit den 1990er Jahren stark restauriert und instand gesetzt. Era anticamente uno dei sestieri in cui era suddivisa la città di Genova e confinava a levante con quello della Maddalena, a ponente con quello di San Teodoro e a nord con quello di San Vincenzo. Compreso in seguito nella ex-circoscrizione Prè-Molo-Maddalena, che riuniva in un'unica entità amministrativa i tre quartieri più antichi del centro storico, Prè è oggi una unità urbanistica del Municipio I Centro-Est. Situato a ridosso dell'area portuale più antica, è probabilmente il più conosciuto tra i quartieri storici del capoluogo ligure. La zona di via Prè, che con il suo intrico di vicoli offriva opportunità di protezione e fuga, nel secondo dopoguerra divenne emblema di una piccola criminalità che viveva soprattutto di contrabbando di sigarette, prostituzione e ricettazione.Il quartiere dagli anni novanta è sottoposto a profondi lavori di restauro e conservazione degli stabili.
