- Der Portland International Raceway ist eine permanente Rennstrecke in Portland, Oregon. Sie wurde auf dem Gelände errichtet, an dem am 30. Mai 1948 durch eine Flutkatastrophe der Ort zerstört wurde. Das erste Rennen fand im Jahre 1960 statt. Von 1984 bis 2007 wurde hier der der Champ Car World Series ausgetragen. Von 1999 bis 2006 fanden hier außerdem Läufe der American Le Mans Series statt. Seit 2018 gibt es mit dem IndyCar-Series-Rennen wieder einen Grand Prix der höchsten US-Formelserie Die Strecke wurde in zwei Varianten gebaut, einmal ein 1,92 Meilen langer Straßenkurs ohne „Festival“-Schikane und ein 1,964 Meilen langer Straßenkurs mit „Festival“. La pista está hecha de asfalto y concreto, y prácticamente no tiene cambios de nivel. Existen dos variantes, según si se usa la chicane o no de 3.170 y 3.080 metros de longitud respectivamente. La recta principal se usa también para carreras de arrancones, y cerca del complejo existe una pista de motocross. Portland recibió a numerosas campeonatos de automovilismo de velocidad del país. El principal fue la CART World Series: el "Gran Premio de Portland" tuvo lugar desde 1984 hasta 2007 a fines de junio, luego de Milwaukee o Detroit y antes de Cleveland. Se celebraba en el marco del Festival de las Rosas de Portland, una serie de festejos masivos en la ciudad. En 2018, Portland recibió una fecha de la IndyCar Series a inicios de septiembre. La Indy Lights fue telonera de esa carrera entre 1988 y 2001 y 2018, en tanto que la Fórmula Atlantic lo fue en 1984, en 1987 y desde 2002 hasta 2007, además de visitar el circuito en otras oportunidades entre 1985 y 1988. - Portland International Raceway (PIR) is a motorsport facility in Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is part of the Delta Park complex on the former site of Vanport, just south of the Columbia River. It lies west of a light rail station and less than a mile west of Interstate 5. The track hosts the IndyCar Series, ICSCC and SCCA and OMRRA road racing, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, and SCCA autocross events. Additionally, the PIR grounds are host to OBRA (Oregon Bicycle Racing Association) bicycling races on the track and the surrounding grounds. The facility includes a dragstrip and a motocross track. The road course is almost perfectly flat and runs clockwise. Two track configurations are possible. One includes a hard chicane at the end of the front straight and involves 12 turns alength of 1.945 mi (3.130 km). Without the chicane, the track has nine turns and a lap length of 1.915 mi (3.082 km). Portland is classified as an FIA Grade Two circuit. The City of Portland is working to establish the track as carbon neutral. (en)

O circuito é quase totalmente plano e no sentido horário, podendo ser modificado em dois traçados. Foi criado sobre a antiga localização da cidade de Vanport, destruída em 1948 quando um dique do Rio Columbia se rompeu e inundou a cidade. As primeiras provas ocorreram nas ruas da cidade velha, em 1961. Na decada de 1970 o circuito foi totalmente pavimentado. Entre 1984 e 2007 hospedou o Grand Prix of Portland da então CART, depois chamada de Champ Car. Outras categorias que ali correram estão a Camping World Truck Series e a American Le Mans Series.
